June 20, 200322 yr I've just purchased a Visiontek 64MB GF2 GTS card and would appreciate some advice on the best drivers for this card. Thanks,JoeCurrent Specs:HP PIII 733384 MB RAM16 MB nVidia TNT2 (don't laugh too hard, FS2k2 runs quite well with this card)
June 20, 200322 yr Joe - Promise not to laugh at this answer :-) because I'm serious when I say use the 12.41's. These drivers are, IMNSHO, still the best bet for any GF2 card in terms of both performance and stability.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. June 20, 200322 yr I'm using the 5.16 Herc drivers with my GF2GTS64 card. Just not running any games with it anymore. I've also heard that the 12.41 drivers are the best for that card. So, there's two independent opinions. I paid $360 bucks for the card when it was new way back when. How much are they now? :-lol
June 21, 200322 yr I use the 12.41 drivers with my 64MB Geforce 2 Ultra; they work great under XP and along with the 12.41's I use the Geforce Tweak Utility to set the Mipmap detail to a setting of -.3 with FS2002. This gives a definite improvement to scenery detail at a distance and eliminates the "blurries". Give them a try!Ken
June 21, 200322 yr Try the Det. 29.42 drivers. I had EXCELLENT performance and image quality with those when coupled with my GF2 Series card (Hercules GF2 64mb DDR Pro), they are also WHQL Certified (not that it matters, lol). Also try the 22.80s, 23.11s, 23.12s, 28.32s and the 30.82s!!! See which one works best for you!!I posted a test between the drivers here a while back and recommended the 29.42s and the amount of responses from MANY people was quite favorable.Get them at www.guru3d.comHope this helps!!!:) Ark -------------------------- I9 9900K @ 5ghz / 32GB G.Skill (Samsung B) / Aorus Master Mobo / EVGA GTX 2080Ti FTW 3
