You say you have a 2.4XP+... You mean a 2400+? Then yes you will have a big performance upgrade with the 3.0 ghz P4 :7

I would stick with AMD, get an XP3000 :9 You really can't go wrong with an XP3000 or an 3.06 HT P4. It comes down to personal choice in my mind..do you like AMD or Intel better ;-)

Based on latest tests (tomshardware or simhq sites) P4 3.00 (with HT) offers the best performance currently available - plus according to simhq P4 3.0 clearly beats XP3200 in the flight simulation. I would advise Intel also. Money being no issue, go for the new 3.2C CPU. I'd take an Abit IC7-G over a P4C800 personally ;)
