I'm thinking about new cpu, please help!!!

Featured Replies

ok, I got fs9. Looks great but all those beautiful clouds etc. takes FPS. I'm thinking about new CPU.Now I have Athlon XP2100, Geforce4ti4600, 512RAM, WIN XP. Should I upgrade? I dont know..... I'm thinking about pentium 2.8 because the price difference between 2.8 and 3.0-3.2 is big. If I will go for 2.8 and radeon9800pro, will I notice big difference in FPS? maybe I should get athlon?I dont know.... Please Help...Thank YouJacek

If you want the most room for upgrade pick up an intel board that supports 800FSB, so you can grow into it when you want an 800FSB processor. AMD solutions are cheaper though. Radeon 9800 pros are decent but 5900's are the fastest these days.

hm, I will think about this.... so which video card is better for fs9 radeon 9800pro or nvidia 5900?ThanksJacek

well ATI has driver issues and some sapphire made ATI cards have memory/bios issues. I'd go with Nvidia to be honest. For Nvidia cards, get the MSI brand, great bundle and quieter fan.

>hm, I will think about this.... so which video card is better>for fs9 radeon 9800pro or nvidia 5900?Jacek,It is only fair to point out that many simmers report much better picture quality with 9800pro than with the latest 5900. You can read some posts on the subject on this very forum. Yes, 5900 is slightly faster than the best Radeon card now.Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg
