Kurt, I fired up FS9, downloaded the real-world weather using FS9, and started Radar Contact. Attached is what my System Monitor showed. I think it shows I have a problem. My Allocated memory is over the 512Mb I have installed. And, these readings were sitting at the gate.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/37042.jpg

Steve,See what you get with a default aircraft, without using real-world weather, and without radar contact or any other additinal programs running. Some other things to check -under system properties/performance/file system/hard disk see if it is set to desktop computer and NOT network server. I've never seen any benefit to any program I've run so far by having it set to network server and have seen negative affects in some.under the 386Enh section, ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1 ,under the vcache section MinFileCache=65536 -you might try setting this lower such as 32768. MaxFileCache=360448 -you might try setting this lower such as 131072 and then working up. You could also delete these vcache settings and use the defaults and then retry the entries later.run msinfo32 and see what is showing under software environment/running tasks. you can also check this with wintop and see which processes are running and the number of threads that go with them.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/37092.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/37095.jpgKurt M

Kurt, I ran this quick test just after arriving back home from DC late last night. After posting this I realized that I had not re-set the VCACHE as you suggested earlier. I did have ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1 set, though."under system properties/performance/file system/hard disksee if it is set to desktop computer and NOT network server." It is set to Network Server but I can't remember why that is off the top of my head. I didn't set it as such. Could it have anything to do with the Router I'm attached to? (Wife's PC is using a LinkSys wireless connection to the server)... I'll reset everything tonight and retest. In another thread in the General Forum, someone thinks that possibly FSUIPC is causing the stutters. I'll temporarily remove it and see if that helps any. Won't be able to use FSUIPC but it may prove what's at fault. I'll reset the VCACHE settings, set to Desktop Computer, remove FSUIPC, and fly a flight with FS ATC/FS Weather to see what happens.Thanks.

Steve,As far as the network vs. desktop setting, I was talking about a stand alone computer. I do not know anything about routers/networks and in your case the network setting may be correct.Kurt M

Kurt, Made the changes to my System.ini file. Also, I removed FSUIPC from my modules folder and ran a test flight with only FS9 downloaded weather and FS9 ATC. I used my FFX MD82 (TWA) and Leon Seale's update of Paul Golding's MD80 panel. Here's the SysMon as I sat at the end of the runway. Key point is that during the 20 minutes of my test flight I had NO stuttering at all. Apparently, there is an issue with FSUIPC that causes the stuttering (see the Flight Simulator General Discussion Forum). So, it is either removing FSUIPC or the changes to the System.ini file. Either way, I can now use FS9 but without Radar Contact for now.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/37245.jpg
