September 20, 200322 yr Would anyone suggest an accurate way to read the CPU/system temps? I've been using PC Alert and having received the last few updates, I don't believe I'm getting accurate readings. Idle process temps have been recorded (from 3 separate updates) 44C, 38C and lately 57C. No changes in hardware or operating parameters. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.Rick Rick
September 20, 200322 yr What about room ambient temperature? You might visit www.amd.com, they use to have a *.pdf file on their recommended way of measuring the temperatures. You would need to buy thermocouples and instrumentation, however.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
September 22, 200322 yr I bought a digital inside/outside thermometer from Radio shack. I removed the encapsulation from the thermister bead for the outside temp probe. I drilled a hole straight throught the center of the heat sink on my cpu cooler. I fed the thermister through the center of the heat sink and epoxied it in place with the bead in contact with the surface of the cpu. I gives readings about 5 deg higher than the probe on the mother board and responds quickly to cpu load changes.RegardsBill
