October 20, 200322 yr Yeah baby.I've been using a CH yoke for a few years now, and the original lubrication on the device has been slowly but surely wearing out. At this point, I can "trim" my aircraft by placing the yoke anywhere within the first 30% of motion in either axis, and it'll stay there. :)I understand that dry lubricants are probably best - is that correct and does anyone have any good recommendations for materials/types/brands of good lube? And to think my girlfriend once slipped - "Can I fly the flight stimulator?!"-Greg
October 21, 200322 yr According to a CH representative at Tahoe Avsim conference last year you should never use any petroleum-based lubricants. They will ultimately destry your shaft. He recommended a silicon grease.Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg Michael J.
October 22, 200322 yr Greg, make a trip to your favorite auto supply, and get some silicon grease, the kind that goes on the distributor shaft in the good old days, when points were king!Den
October 23, 200322 yr How often do you recommend lubricating it? Mine's showing some wear, I've had it for just over 1.5 years now.
October 23, 200322 yr I only smear some grease on mine once or twice a year, just if it starts to feel like the post is binding. A little grease goes a long way.Den
