Help - FS9 won't load - suggestions needed to begin troubleshooting process - Thanks

Featured Replies

Hi Friends - FS9 for some reason just won't load on my HP a350n. The splash screen displays, I get some hard drive activity, then it bombs out with no error message. The same thing happens in when I start FS9 in safe mode, too. Everything else on the computer seems to work fine - FS2002 seems to work great and all of my other programs seem to work fine. Can someone offer some a procedure for identifying the source of the problem? Many thanks

I would visit HP - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwar...n&dlc=en&os=228 for any updates to the drivers for your computer, especially if you installed WinXP SP2. There is a BIOS update to fix one problem. If you are not experiencing this problem, you might not want to update the BIOS.Use the directx diagnostics by pressing Start, Run..., type dxdiag, OK. Let the diagnostics stabilize, ensure you are using DirectX9.0b or DirectX9.0c. Select the Display tab, ensure DirectDraw, Direct3D, and AGP Accelerations are enabled. If any are grayed out, install or reinstall the motherboard controller chip drivers, probably Intel drivers. Run the DirectDraw and Direct3D tests and note any errors.W. Sieffert
