October 11, 200421 yr I would reinstall updated MOBO NForce drivers to see if it corrects the problem. If not, uninstall the ATI drivers to the Windows default drivers and see if the problem is corrected. You can reinstall the ATI drivers and see if the problem is corrected. Lastly, reinstall DirectX9.0c using the 35MB directx_9c_redist.exe from www.microsoft.com to see if it corrects the problem. If all the above fail to correct the problem, open the computer, remove the graphics card, then reinstall the card to see if reseating the card corrects the problem. Finally, try the graphics card in a different computer.W. October 11, 200421 yr Author Thanks for you help.I can tell that when working in safe mode, I don't remember having any problem. In fact, the problem really started to occur when I installed the catalyst 4.9 drivers (it happened maybe twice or so during the last 6 months, but seems it was really seldom, I did not pay attention to it). That's why I installed the omega latest to check for any difference. Also tried with DVI and VGA. same issue.I will try with the default XP driver and also will replace my card my the old one Geforce4 (after removing the dust from it!).Still, While going through the forums here and there, it could be a power problem (though I did not change anything ot my system), or worse, but at least clear, a card failure. Thanks again. If anyone has seen such a thing before, please tell.
