Hi,Can anyone recommend any changes to the standard BIOS setting for an Asus A8V Deluxe motherboard to improve performance? Or should I just stick to the default BIOS settings?System:Asus A8V Deluxe MotherboardAsus 6800 GT Video Card1GB RamThanks, Bryan

Hi Bryan, if there's option like 'Load Optimized Defaults', you should be fine more or less. You can try moving away from your 'SPD' RAM presets to gain a bit more performance. In the Abit USA Forum there are a few helpful links and tips, here: http://forum.abit-usa.com/index.phpOr this one, scroll down to the Articles and Guides section: http://forum.abit-usa.com/showthread.php?t...15&pagenumber=1Another useful source of information to start, is viaarena.comGood luck and kind regards Jaap

I personally really have not found any big secrets that greatly improve performance, but one thing you can go and change is the RAM timings, assuming you have good quality RAM that can handly low latency settings, other then that, there is not much. One thing though that I found has helped games is by disabling fast writes, it would seem smart to have it on but for me it made everything clearer and smoother.
