March 20, 200521 yr Hi all,I'm using a Dell Dimension 8250, 2.8 gig Pentium 4. Have 1024 mgs of Ram, and of course, I am looking for the very best smoothness and frame rates possible in my favorite sim, FS9. I have the OC version of the Nvidia 6800GT card (256Mg)and I run my monitor resolution at 1280 X 1024.Please tell me what AA and AF settings you are most successful using. I've tried many combinations, and I can't be sure which is the best compromise of performance and quality. I have the very latest Nvidia drivers (71.84)which I feel SHOULD be the best. Right?Look forward to your comments.
March 29, 200521 yr Hello there, I have the BFG Nvidia6800GT. 71.84 current drivers. I run it at 1152 X 864 res.32bitMake sure you have the "show advanced settings box" checked. Also, if you right click within the settings box, and select "whats this", it will tell you what each setting is for and what performance effect it will have in general. My System Specs: AMD2800+barton, 1.5gigs Dual ch ddr ram, Win2000pro ,Asus A7N8XDeluxe 400FSB MB, 550watt Pwr supply.I get, without everything maxed (I am locked at 28fps) 21-28fpsNOTE:I unchecked "render to texture" in FS9 settings and this smoothed things out as well. I use AEU7 and it was studdering with it checked. Everything still looks great without it checked with the Nvidia6800GT.OK, now here you go...Antialiasing - 8XSAnisotropic Filtering - 2XImage Settings -High performanceColor Profile- Not available by defaultVertical Sync -OnForce mipmaps- bilinear ( * I set this at Trilinear in FS9)Extension limit -Off by defaultHardware acceleration -Single-display mode * I have one 22" monitorTrilinear Optimization -OnAnisotropic mip filter Optimization -OnAnisotropic sample Optimization -OnNegative LOD bias -ClampI hope this helps. Of course as you know, everyones system acts differently. I wish you good luck! Best regards, moss1
