  1. Thanks for the advice guys. :-) My world distance was reset to very high, from just high. That made a difference, however things are not as smooth... just yet (stutters here and there etc...) I am confident that this will clear up as the final release candidate approaches. Until then I'll enjoy 10.45. When the next beta is out, I'll do as I usually do and try it. Have never been let down by the progress in the end. I usually do not participate in betas, but due to the scope of 10.50, I couldn't help myself. Thanks again all for your input. Best, Jeff
  2. Hi everyone, I applied the 10.50 B4 to my extra copy of X-plane. I notice immediately the performance is not anywhere as good as in 10.45. I've been busy as of lately with real world stuff so haven't been able to keep up as much. I want to move forward as I've always have once this is solid, but I am hesitant now due to the FPS hit. I get almost 20 frames or more less with this version and unacceptable stuttering. I'm on an i7 @4.4ghz 16 gigs @ddr2300 ram. Nvidia TitanX 12 gig card and Windows7. Also use a high end 27" ASUS GSync Gaming monitor. I am very pleased with my performance in 10.45. I average about 40 to 60FPS in most cases depending on scenery and aircraft used and sometimes higher. Anything I am missing something here that could be such an impact? Thanks so much in advance. Best, Jeff
  3. Hi Jose, I haven't done it yet either, but may I suggest if you have the hard drive space, copy your X-Plane main folder and create a new folder called X-plane 10.50beta. Paste the copied folder into that. Then open the copied version of X-plane and update that. This way only that copy is the new beta and you can always go back to using your older version if you are not happy with the results. Most importantly, preserving your installation and add ons etc. That's what I do always. Hope this helps! Best, Jeff
  4. Wanted to take a look for curiosity, but could not find at the org or here after a quick search. Is there a link for this? Thanks in advance! Best, Jeff EDIT: I found it at the org store. Wasn't looking there.
  5. Then add the Blue Sky Star soundset for icing on the cake! Best, Jeff
  6. I took the CRJ200 for a short hop KPHL-KEWR. Gotta tell you that finally I was able to enjoy the flight in this bird with the new sound set. Night and day from before. Honestly worth every penny of the $20.00 spent. These Devs really impress me with the amount of work they put into their sound products. Best, Jeff
  7. Hi all, Just a heads up......for those that love the JRollin CRJ, BBS has just released the immersion sound pack for her! Can't wait to install this and give new life the the CRJ again. :-) If you navigate to their facebook page, there is a few youtube videos there as well with links to their site. Wasn't sure if I could post the link(s) or not, so left it out for now. Best, Jeff
  8. Hi Dan, I just read your post. Do you have any tweaks in your FSX cfg file? One in particular good must-have is the HIGHMEMFIX. There are issues without it, like aircraft etc looking like skeletons among other issues. This is just a guess, but may help if you never have done anything to your FSXcfg file. I've copied instructions here if it helps. You can find the FSXcfg file in the following directory (Win7): c:\users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX This folder might be hidden, but you can change this in the Explorer: Tools/Folder options/view/show hidden files Once You have located the FSX.cfg simply open it with notepad. Find this section: [Graphics] After that a number of lines appear Simply add to the end or the first entry of that section: HIGHMEMFIX= 1 I don't think its just related to Zinertek, but an overall FSX issue. Jim Young is a great asset to the Avsim Staff here and also has an incredible guide for FSX/P3D that really will eliminate using bad tweaks that can make things worse than better. Highly recommended... Its on the right side of the home page here. I've provided the link for you below: http://www.avsim.com/files/file/41-basic-fsx-p3d-configuration-guide/ I've been rather busy lately, but love to help people here when I can every chance. I hope this information provided will assist you. If you're not familiar with something, always ask before you pull any triggers so you don't mess things up. The community here is absolutely amazing and answers are never far away. Best, Jeff
  9. I had asked Blue Sky Star on their Facebook page a short bit ago. They did announce that they were in the development phase, right before the sound set for the Aerosoft 320 was released, and said it was coming along. As they are just getting prepared to release the new Jar A330 update 2 set, I hope we see it soon when that process is complete. I am excited to to have new life in the CRJ as I do not care for the sounds too much as is. Best, Jeff
  10. Thanks Lena, I think i will redownload and install just to see. Haven't done that yet. Glad to know that there are others that have no issues. It drives me nuts that I can get great performance with complex AC,, then I have issues with the lesser demanding aircraft. Off to test now. Thanks for the reply and Happy New Year to you and the entire Avsim family here! Best, Jeff
  11. Hi everyone, I purchased this aircraft when it was was first released, then got the service pack. This aircraft for some reason, brings my system to its knees. I can use almost everything else out there without issue, nowhere near the performance hit. Dan was looking into his and never came back with an answer. ( He may have not found one? ) I can use all complex releases at complex airports out there, even with 4 K textures as I have a TitanX card. This steam gauge product must have an internal issue somewhere?? I've had this 404Titan in my hanger since day one and don't understand why it is not being addressed, or talked about as I've seen others here with similar performance issues. Can anyone tell me if they have found a way around this? Have I missed something? I've been flying heavies lately, but like to do short GA hops now and then. I have an i7 @4.4GHZ, 16gigs DDR2400 Ram, Nvidia TitanX 12 Gig video card on windows 7 etc... I just can't wrap my head around why a steam gauge product like this would have such a huge hit over the complex glass aircraft products? Thanks again in advance! Best, Jeff
  12. Why in the world did they remove that feature?? Actually, I was thinking if I reinstall my 350.12 drivers, but with the geforce experience software this time, it might have shadowplay still embedded, as I don't know which series drivers Nvidia removed the shadowplay feature. Not many options. I've used Fraps many years ago in FSX, and yes..horrible performance. Thanks for your input guys. Much appreciated. :-) Best, Jeff
  13. I had the same earlier..It is indeed working now. Merry Christmas everyone! Best, Jeff
  14. Hi everyone and happy holidays to all. :-) If I wanted to create some movies in X-plane 10.42, what is the best method? I ask because some of the latest add ons don't work properly in playback, animations, sounds etc... If I choose AVIs, I can't switch views other than when recording in real time..hence why I like the internal playback. What are most using to accomplish this? I see movies of the new FF767, Jar A330, Rotate MD80 for example. I have tried with the Jar A330 in the past, but the new BBS sound pack won't work properly in the built in X-Plane playback. Can anyone suggest the best way for me to do this? I was thinking Shadowplay by Nvidia, but I don't have the full software installed other than just the graphic driver to help system performance. Thanks in advance. Again, Merry Christmas to all of my second family here at Avsim! Best, Jeff
  15. Graphically, much, much better than the other E-190, 195 etc... Sounds are better as well. However, this may be a good one for Blue Sky Star to get their hands on. I didn't spend too much time with her tonight. I noticed that the Nav displays didn't show my route, distance to, TOD information etc.. that I could see anywhere. I realize that the developer had to use some default Xplane stuff in here. I do need to read up on the manuals next. If I do get sufficient time in, i will post my thoughts. With my schedule, I'm sure there are many that will beat me to it. :-) Best, Jeff
  16. IMHO, their sound sets by far, are the best I've ever had for any airbus...considering how much airbus passenger time I've had over the years...they nailed it 100%. Anyone on the fence about purchasing them should well... get off the fence! Looking forward to the A330 set update. Best, Jeff
  17. Also, the Dreamfoil-B407 is amazing. it also has an arcade setting to make handling her much easier for new pilots. Yes, rudder pedals will make life much easier for sure, but understand the limited luggage space. Good luck in your quest Morrigan. :-) Best, Jeff
  18. I find this plane extremely heavy on my system as well Alexander. I thought it was just me....it gets worse after time as well. It's strange that I get much better performance with the 777pro / A330 heavies etc... We'll have to wait and see what develops. Love the plane otherwise. Best, Jeff
  19. Thanks Dan! You are truly outstanding in the community keeping us informed and handling service. :-) Best, Jeff
  20. Correction on my earlier post 3) The engine RPM gauge for L /R are reversed. (Right needle reacts to left engine and Left needle reacts to Right engine etc..) It's the Manifold Pressure Gauge! Sorry :-( Anyway, If i get a flight in tonight , I'll report back. Sure others will chime in eventually. Best, Jeff
  21. Hi all, I haven't had much time to fly the C404, but four observations... 1) When the batt is turned on, most / not all of the interior panel lights already on (The sliders above the throttle quad for example) instead of completely dark as I load always cold and dark situations. No big deal on that front. 2) The aircraft seems a bit squrllly trying to keep trimmed on descent, when I lower and or raise the throttle....unless this is the way this aircraft behaves. never flown in RL. Again, haven't spent more then a few minutes with her as I had to close the sim due to other obligations, so I may be off a bit here, so please forgive me if so. Carenado's Caravan used to have a similar issue in FSX a long time ago when first released. 3) The engine RPM gauge for L /R are reversed. (Right needle reacts to left engine and Left needle reacts to Right engine etc..) 4) Also, the prop sync switch is on by default when the plane is loaded. Not sure if this is even modeled, but never the less. I think the plane is really nice otherwise. The only couple of nagging things for me is the reversed engine RPM gauge and the reaction to throttle movements. I hope to get a nice flight in this evening to put her through the paces. Best, Jeff
  22. Using bootcamp, Windows will run in its native environment, utilizing the same drivers that a PC will use...especially for the graphics card. Beware, that an iMac however, has an architecture similar to a laptop and will not be able to be OC'd due to the lack of space and heat issues. A tower would be fine though. I used to run FSX on my iMac, but due to the limitations, and not that great performance (2009 model) I built a PC for that. I use my iMac strictly for web and video / music production. Best, Jeff
  23. Hi Gregg, From Carenado's Facebook page: "In the next days we will release an upgrade which will add real navigation features such as an updatable AIRAC (Navigraph) and VNAV. Base pack price: $39.95 Navigraph extension pack: $4.95 (for the first 10 days)" Hope this helps. We'll have to see how the upgraded 1000 unit really is when it is available of course. Best, Jeff
  24. Pleasure Jim! Hope you are doing well and we all get to see one another again. Think it's been 2 years since Kansas?? Anyway, I haven't installed it yet, but think I was the first to download. Hopefully this evening I will take her up from KIAD to KPHL for a quick spin. Best, Jeff
  25. Heads up for anyone interested... Just happened to be browsing and refreshed the Carenado page... The EMB505 has been released. Best, Jeff
