Help needed with Nvidia Drivers

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.I've been running on the Nvidia 67.03 Forceware drivers for awhile and decided to attempt the 7x.xx series of drivers. I loaded the 71.89 drivers over the older drivers on a freshly formatted HD and games that used to work i.e. flightsim and Star Wars Battlefront now have what I can only descibe as freezes...which eventually end up in me having to "ctrl-alt-del" to close down the app. Funny thing happens as well - when I return to the app after ctrl-alt-del'ing I seem to get it back running... This only happens when using the 71.89 drivers and if I return to the 67.03's everything's cool again...I get better performance in 3DMark benchmarking with the later drivers so I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem and found a fix...Alternatively if someone could give me advice on which drivers to use thar would be much appreciated. Thanks and regards,Rob FAJS

Hi Rob, freezes could be an indicator something is overheating. Maybe your power supply? How many Amps does it read for the 12V rail? Otherwise, I can't really help you with the Geforce drivers so perhaps try the other Avsim hardware forum in the MSFS section? Hope this adds to thoughts, good luck and kind regards Jaap

What is it they say: If it aint broke...I've found that the newest Nvidia drivers are not necessarily the best for any system... why not stay with drivers that work well for you?
