  1. Bert Pieke's post in FSX add-on confusion was marked as the answer
If you open the scenery.cfg file with Notepad, you'll see what you have active.

Anything past Area117 (Cities - Edwards) is addon scenery..

    Program Data \ Microsoft \ FSX \ scenery.cfg
  2. Bert Pieke's post in Flight 1 GTN 750 Error was marked as the answer
    Run the F1GTNUpdate app.
  3. Bert Pieke's post in How to change rudder, aileron, and elevator trim was marked as the answer
No controls in the VC that I know of..
  4. Bert Pieke's post in How to permanently delete FSX Aircraft/System Failures was marked as the answer
Go to your startup flight, disable this option in Options/Settings and resave your startup flight.
  5. Bert Pieke's post in How get rid of flaps warning sound? was marked as the answer
    Joe,

    Gold star to you!

It is a "belt and suspenders" issue.

    In the aircraft.cfg file, set

    [gear_warning_system]
    gear_warning_available = 0

    and the sound goes away.

Since Carenado has programmed its own Gear Warning, this is not required, and indeed gets in the way..
  6. Bert Pieke's post in FSX Steam edition was marked as the answer
This is not an "upgrade"... so to 1) not right   2)  none, if your FSX is working well.
  7. Bert Pieke's post in FSX LOD help (Blurry textures from afar). was marked as the answer
Sorry, I'm sure this is not what you want to hear, but you need a much faster system to achieve that goal.
  8. Bert Pieke's post in Fix list after SP1 was marked as the answer
Guys, this one, you can do yourself... in the Gauge_KAS297VC.xml file, the altitude alerter code is as follows:
    <!-- ALT ALERT HUNDRES --> (L:ALT_ARM_SEL_ON,number) 1 == (L:CUSTOM_AUTOPILOT_AIRSPEED_HOLD_ALT, number) 1 == or if{ 950 1000 (A:INDICATED ALTITUDE,FEET) (L:CUSTOM_AP_ALT_VAR_SET_ENGLISH, feet) - abs rng 1 == (L:GAUGE_ALT_ALERT_DENTRO, number) 1 == and if{ 1 (>L:BUFFER_PC12_Alt, number) 0 (>L:GAUGE_ALT_ALERT_DENTRO, number) 1 (>L:GAUGE_ALT_ALERT_LIGHT, bool) } 250 300 (A:INDICATED ALTITUDE,FEET) (L:CUSTOM_AP_ALT_VAR_SET_ENGLISH, feet) - abs rng 1 == if{ 0 (>L:GAUGE_ALT_ALERT_LIGHT, bool) 1 (>L:GAUGE_ALT_ALERT_DENTRO, number) } 0 5 (A:INDICATED ALTITUDE,FEET) (L:CUSTOM_AP_ALT_VAR_SET_ENGLISH, feet) - abs rng 1 == (L:GAUGE_ALT_ALERT_DENTRO, number) 1 == and if{ 1 (>L:BUFFER_PC12_Alt, number) 0 (>L:GAUGE_ALT_ALERT_DENTRO, number) 0 (>L:ALT_VS_SEL_ON) 0 (>L:ALT_ARM_SEL_ON) } } The sound is caused by the: 1 (>L:BUFFER_PC12_Alt, number) statements.  Once for 1000 feet, once for 0 feet.

If you do not want a sound to appear, change it to:  0 (>L:BUFFER_PC12_Alt, number)

If you have the RXP GNS, you can turn on Autocourse in the ini file.
  9. Bert Pieke's post in PC12 Dual RXP 530s? was marked as the answer
Yes, read the README file with my PC12 mods for the instructions.

    Unlimited is required.
  10. Bert Pieke's post in Course knob bug ? was marked as the answer
I just tested it on my system. The course knob works OK in the popup autopilot, but not in the VC, just as you described.  That is a bug.
  11. Bert Pieke's post in FSX Blurries was marked as the answer
AF=84 is a setting that might work for a hyperthreaded CPU (i7)...

AF=14 is good for a quad CPU (i5 or i7 with hyperthreading turned off).

  12. Bert Pieke's post in First FSX Gaming Rig was marked as the answer
FSX needs a nice balance between CPU and GPU power to give you smooth flight and control.

You've got yourself the top of the line Intel CPU paired up with an entry level GPU...

On the nvidia.com site you can look up the specs for these cards, but here are
some of the relevant ones for FSX:

                                                               GTX750   GTX760   GTX770

CUDA cores (that do the work)            512          1152         1536
    Memory Interface Width                       128            256           256
    Memory bandwidth                                 80            192           224

So you are getting roughly twice the GPU power / throughput when going from a 750 to a 760.

This matters when you get into dense scenery or weather in FSX.

If you only fly over the ocean, in sunny weather, it will not matter..

If you cannot afford it today - you can upgrade in the future  B)

ps. Even a GTX660 would be significantly better than a  750..
  13. Bert Pieke's post in Radio stack defaults was marked as the answer
    Is this it:

    [Avionics.0]
    .....
    AudioMarkerListen=False
  14. Bert Pieke's post in Thirsty For Knowledge.... was marked as the answer
Again, going to a VLJ as a next step is not a realistic recommendation.

Real airline pilots initially learn to fly in small planes B)

C172 until comfortable, next retractable gear (RealAir SF260 as an example), then twin engine
(RealAir B60 Duke V2), then VLJ (Flight1 Mustang)... then big aircraft..

Just an example, but all great aircraft..
  15. Bert Pieke's post in Unable to find my fsx.cfg- Moved FSX to new driver was marked as the answer
Your fsx.cfg file stays on the C: drive, even if you move FSX to a different hard drive.
  16. Bert Pieke's post in Pressurisation, that climb rate was marked as the answer
Sorry - been away a while... I actually changed that in the V6 PFD... The rate is now 1500 ft/min.
