Anyone using Skype for messaging, etc.?

Featured Replies

Not FS related, but hopefully computer related. I'd be interested in any feedback from those who either use it, or know about it, and what if any the pitfalls are. My application will be a webcam, which will get occasional use.http://www.skype.com/Thanks- Bruce.

Hi Bruce,I use it for business where it gives me ability to make a lot of international internet phone calls of good quality at 0,019 dollars per minute - you cannot beat that. The quality of the voice and video stream is only limited to your internet connection speed, so the faster you go the better quality.hope this helps,CheersDom

Hi Dom,Thanks for your reply and comments. Someone who e-maled me thought that Skype acts as a distributed networm, in that all PC's with the software loaded become nodes where they are permanently connected to the internet- which I would not wish for myself. Kind of like Napster? Would that be right?Thanks- Bruce.

As far as I know from some recent articles is that skype itself is spyware free, just the third party add-ons that one can add will make it spyware.
