October 28, 200619 yr Would anyone know how to get rid of this issue? When attempting to change the Virtual Memory on drive F back to windows managed,I get the runtime error Program:C:WINDOWSsystem32mmc.exe ,and am unable to make the change. Thanks for any help!:-) http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159932.jpg
October 29, 200619 yr Did you have virtual memory set up on this drive? Do you also have virtual memory set up on the "C:" drive? Windows is going to want Virtual Memory set up somewhere.Select your "C:" drive and see if you have virtual memory on it. If so, set your "F:" drive to No paging file.Press Start, select Help and Support, type virtual memory, select Manage your computer's performance, and/or Change the size of virtual memory paging file.W. October 29, 200619 yr Thankyou for the reply:-), I have system managed on "c",and had manual imputs for min and max on "f".When I attemped to go to syst managed on "f",I got locked out with this message, and can no longer make a change. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159989.jpg
October 29, 200619 yr If i remember correctly, when you put the swapfile on any other disk, you need to make sure that on C you make a small swapfile 2-50megs. If you dont for some reason XP still creates one on C. too.

Have you tried to set it via Control Panel>System>Advanced>Performance>Advanced>Virtual Memory, rather than the management console? Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d

(Most likely it was corrupted when the MMC app failed, or it is what was causing the MMC to crash in the first place.) I think the safest thing to do, is make a copy of that file just in case, then let the system overwrite it. Then you should be ok! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
