November 14, 200619 yr I've just installed an overclocked 7600GS GPU. It runs great out of the box but I'd like some suggestions on what settings to use to get the most out of the GPU. I've got Riva Tuner and the card came with the 91.31 drivers.Dave FisherCYYZP4 Prescott 3.2e 478p 800mhz 1mg CPUP4P800SE Asus Motherboard2.5 gig PC3200 DDR RAM 400MHZGeForce 7600GS/512Maxtor 80 Gig ATA 133 HD x2WDC WD800 80 Gig HDAntec 500watt true power
November 14, 200619 yr Dave,What brand is it?. BFG, EVGA etc.. each have their own max.overclock capability. This is how i do it, what you can do is auto detect its best setting with rivatuner, and then slowly with small increments raise the clock/mem speeds, after each time run a benchmark like 3DMark and see if you get artifacts, freezes etc.. keep in mind though watch the temps.
November 25, 200619 yr Dave,Thew way to OC is how i mentioned it before, use a temp monitoring program, MBM, Everest or something similar and follow those steps. The moment you get artifacts, lockups or any issues during benchies means you've reached the max. You can also try various tweaked drivers, like TweakRU, Z-Tweaked, Omega etc.. to match the overclock and see if you get either higher or lower results.
