Hi all,I just upgraded my old Sapphire ATI 9600Pro (8x AGP, 256mb) to a XFX GeForce 7600GT (PCIE 16x, 256mb). I removed the old drivers, installed the new card, installed the newest Nvidia drivers and loaded up a flight in FS9 that I had saved and tested with my old video card. With the new card installed I saw essentially no difference! I realized that it might be my old power supply (300W), so I bought a new 500W power supply (Antec EA500, +12V 17 amp) but that didn't do anything either. Arggg.... Perhaps it's some other component dragging it down, but I find it hard to believe that the 7600GT wouldn't improve upon the dusty old 9600Pro. I even set both the AA and AF at 2x like I had it before with 9600Pro.Here are my other specs:AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (overclocked from 2200 to 2640 ghz)ASRock 939 Dual Sata2 Mobo1.5 GB DDR400WD 250 GB Sata2 HDPlease help!!! I'm thinking of just returning the card and the power supply and going back to how it was before. But this simply cannot be.... Hmmm....Is there something I'm missing here? Perhaps something that's key when changing cards? Thanks,Alden

The 7600 is considerably less GPU than a 7900...it's a mid-performance card. Together with a CPU that made its debut ~4 years ago, I'm not sure I'd have expected a huge difference with the 7600.Performance-wise, I'm suspicious of mobos that run both AGP and PCIe.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

Thanks Bob,I'm not sure what the 7900 has to do with this - perhaps you mention it as a comparison? I'm still having a hard time believing that the 7600 won't improve at all above the ATI 9600.Here's a comparison of the two cards.http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=75&card2=385Perhaps my CPU is really what's limiting though... However, I always thought that the 9600 was the worst component of my system for FS.-Aldenps- thanks for the A340 FDE!!
