April 14, 200323 yr A lot of people, including me, have had problems getting either of these to work with our controls. I tried the demos of both, and could not get my gameport throttle to work. I emailed the company but they don't provide any support whatsoever of the demo versions.So... caveat emptor.Dave Blevins System: Asus P8Z68 Deluxe/Gen3 mobo *** i7 2700K @ 5gHz w/ Corsair H80 cooler NVidia GTX 570 OC *** 8 GB 1600 Corsair Vengeance DRAM *** CoolerMaster HAF X case System overclocked and tuned for FSX by fs-gs.com Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog stick/throttle & CH Products Pro Pedals Various GoFlight panels *** PFC avionics stack

April 14, 200323 yr http://www.fileplanet.com/files/110000/117124.shtml (Coastal Heroes Demo) (72MB)http://www.fileplanet.com/files/110000/117016.shtml (Vietnam Medevac Demo) (81MB)I've downloaded the demos, but have not installed them yet, so I can't speculate on how good they are. These are (both?) SAR4. SAR3 is similar to Coastal Heroes. It was quite fun, but I haven't played it too much recently either.Brian
April 15, 200323 yr Oh thanks but I meant the link on eb games for sar CH.Those demos are a little big for my 56k connection :)Alan
April 16, 200323 yr Gotta remember "demos" don't always work well. Anywho, I'm flying both with no problem using MS Sidewinder Precision 2. Wjat I find really cool in SAR 4 is cruising over a highway or town and watching vehicles driving about. And when you land, sometimes people come around to see the chopper. The scenery really isn't all that bad and makes me wonder why Microsoft couldn't have done someting simple like this.
April 16, 200323 yr I dont think theres any thing wrong with the graphics, Ive read loads of reviews of 3 and 4 saying how bad this is how bad that is and it kinda put me off getting it even though i own sar2 and think 3 and 4 demos are brilliant, anyway im ordeing it tomorrow from a US website, it will only cost about
April 17, 200323 yr Your right as I'm more than happy with the graphics. I noticed the people screamimg too. There are some great features in these games. A little fine tuning and they would be perfect. Plus, at 10 bucks it's well worth it.
April 17, 200323 yr Hello everyone. While I don't normally frequent the rotohead board, I came across this post and thought I would post a link to a similar problem I'm having with SAR. This thread took place at simhq. In short, don't expect the throttle issue to get fixed with gameport HOTAS's.Bummer. SAR4 really is pretty cool.http://tinyurl.com/9rjaHope this sheds some light on it. I might end up picking up SAR4 anyway and just use the keyboard for collective and the joystick for the cyclic.Pieter
