December 3, 200223 yr Chris,In answer to your questions:>1. How do I zoom in and out using the external view ?Select "Spot Plane View" and use "Enter + or -" to zoom in or out. >2. How can I set up the cockpit views so that I can let go >of the joystick hat switch ? For example, I would like to be >able to look through the left cockpit window by clicking the >joystick hat switch left, but I don't want it to flip back >to the forward view when I let go !This is a combination of two things. First, you must go into your settings and assign the views to your hat switch. Second, you have to edit the FS2002 cfg file to lock the views so they don't snap back automatically. Below are before and after settings.MOUSE_AS_YOKE_TOGGLE=46,10PAN_LEFT=8,11PAN_RIGHT=13,11VIEW_FORWARD=38,41VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT=33,41VIEW_RIGHT=39,41VIEW_REAR_RIGHT=34,41(etc)Change the "41" at the end of each "view" command to "9"When your done, it will look like this:MOUSE_AS_YOKE_TOGGLE=46,10PAN_LEFT=8,11PAN_RIGHT=13,11VIEW_FORWARD=38,9VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT=33,9VIEW_RIGHT=39,9VIEW_REAR_RIGHT=34,9VIEW_REAR=40,9VIEW_REAR_LEFT=35,9VIEW_LEFT=37,9VIEW_FORWARD_LEFT=36,9VIEW_DOWN=12,9 >3. I would like to be able to set up an external view by >simply pressing a SINGLE key, rather than cycling through >several views. I also want to be able to pan around this >view (and up and down) by using the joystick hat switch. How >do I do this ? Assuming that you are in cockpit view to start, right click on your mouse and select spot plane view. To return to your cockpit view, hit Shift-S on your keyboard. To return to spot view, just hit "S" on your keyboard. If I may make a suggestion at this point, you may want to download and install the module Active Camera version 1.3 which is in the Avsim file library. This handles views/panning really well both in and out of the cockpit. I would also pay a visit to http://www.fsgateway.com/tips.asp to find some wonderful tips and tricks for FS2002.Hope this helps and good luckLawrieLawrie MannVatsim Callsign: TELCO1
December 3, 200223 yr Chris,Further to the previous post:>1. How do I activate thrust reversers in FS2002 ? Assuming that you have cut your power over the threshold and have touched down with the throttles in the idle position, press F2 on your keyboard to initiate reverse thrust and F1 to set the power back to idle. You can also program your joystick buttons to achieve this. Assign one button to "Decrease Throttle (F2)" and another to "Cut Throttle (F1)". >2. Does the Dassault Falcon 50 have thrust reversers ?I haven't flown the Falcon in a while so I can't remember. >3. Where are the trim controls in the Falcon 50 cockpit (the Same as above.LawrieLawrie MannVatsim Callsign: TELCO1
December 3, 200223 yr Lawrie,Many thanks for the help. I have already assigned my joystick button 1 to activate the thrust reversers. Now I just need an airliner that has thrust reversers modelled in its flight dynamics file !!!Chris Low,ENGLAND. December 4, 200223 yr jerrycwo4Chris: Have you found the trim controls in the Falcon 50 yet? If not, I'll put a screen print here for you. I use it almost all of the time and I only fly the Falcon 50. You can also do the same adjustments with the NUMBER LOCK turned OFF, use the keypad #8 to trim DOWN and the #2 of the keypad to trim UP. Remember, the Number Lock MUST be turned OFF. Try it and let me know. jerry
