November 30, 200223 yr Hi, when I try to install ActiveSky 2002 v1.5 on Windoze Me, I get the following error:"An error occurred while registering the file 'C:WINDOWSSYSTEMMSINET.OCX'." The options are abort, retry, and ignore. All I can do to get past it is by pressing 'ignore', but then when I run ActiveSky I get the following message:"Run-time error '372': Failed to load control 'Inet' from MSINET.OCX. Your version of MSINET.OCX may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application."And all I can do is press OK and quit. Can someone help me please? I'm itching to try it!Thanks in advance for any help...
November 30, 200223 yr Author BTW, I have chacked that I have all the latest runtimes, and I have no previous versions installed. I'm using Windows Me.
November 30, 200223 yr It seems that file has not been registered by windoze....try this...Open a DOS box and type the following (without the speach marks)"CDWINDOWSSYSTEM" Press EnterThen type..."REGSVR32 MSINET.OCX" Press EnterYou should see a box stating that registration of the .dll was successful.Hope this helps?!
November 30, 200223 yr Author Thanks, but that comes up with:"LoadLibrary("msinet.ocx") failed. GetLastError returns 0x0000001f."Ouch!
December 1, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi,This would be the first report of this. Something has to be wrong with the file or it's registry settings. Try uninstalling ActiveSky, deleting any MSINET.OCX file in your system or system32 folders (check no duplicates), and then re-install ActiveSky.You may find that another application has made this file hidden or read only.. make sure you have ability to see hidden and read-only files (Tools, Folder Options, View). If that doesn't work I suggest downloading the latest visual basic runtime files from microsoft. Let me know how it works out!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxresmallbanner.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
December 1, 200223 yr Author Deleting the file worked and now ActiveSky does too. Thanks Damian! Now I'm off to try the program!
