January 18, 200323 yr Hi Damian,May I just say... So far so good!! I have converted from FSMeteo (sorry Marc!) but I will add that at the moment the only additional feature I benefit from is the wake turbulence :) Kewl!OK, just downloaded the v1.1 update. Oh, bit of background - Win2000 SP4 running FS2002/fsuipc/wideFSServer on PC1 /-/ WideFSClient/ASky wxRE/flightmax etc on PC2 TCP/IP connected. When I try to install the update on PC2 I get an error message. I am assuming it is a MSI error as I do get the installShield wizard pop up but this is overlaid with an active error message titled "ActiveSky wxRE 1.0 to 1.1 Update Installer Information"The error message reads:"Error 1606: Could not access network location computernamePathToFolder"The funny thing is, the computername is for a computer name that has not been on my network for months!!I did a bit of research and I know the filepath can be relevant (as in, it may refer to certain folders within a user profile) but in my case it's looking for a buckshee folder that I stored stuff prior to backing up. This was never a mapped drive incidently.I found a similar MSI error (1606) but MS said it only relates to winXP. I thought there may be similarities but I've checked the registry and the key ....User Shell Folders the fix tells you to edit, doesn't exist in W2K!! (See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...us;315352)(Have to cut&paste as link doesn't work!)Various other articles suggest problem's with the MSI package creation!! But as I'm sure that's not the case.... if you happen to include a fix for my problem in a revised edition, I'll not mention it;)Any Ideas??Excellent work. Well done!Tom
January 18, 200323 yr Hi Tom. I also downloaded and upgraded to v1.1 and experienced the same problem you are describing. I found that the .msi will not run from within a .zip file on a network drive. I extracted the files and all went well. You may even try extracting to a local drive for better results.Hope this helps, ________________________________ Ken B. Jackson - KSAT Private Pilot - SEL San Antonio, Texas
January 18, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi Tom,I believe the problem lies in the automatic search across all drives for your existing 1.0 installation. Something is inaccessable in your available drives list.If this is the case, the solution is to let it find your installation earlier, perhaps by copying your existing wxre 1.0 folder to c: - this way it finds it right away and will not continue to search through the erroneous drives list. You will still be able to specify your CORRECT 1.0 folder once the installer loads and asks for the destination folder.Let me know if this solves the problem! Thanks..-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

(But don't forget to chill out too!)All bestTom
