January 27, 200323 yr Hi everyone.Since I upgraded to version 1.15 when the weather is updated FS2002 freezes for a few seconds and then it gets going again, but today after that I started getting a strange humming noise after the weather was updated. When I was using version 1.0 I wasn't getting any such problems. Now what I would like to know is if this has happened to someone else before or not. In the end it might not even be a problem concerning Activesky, but wanted to have some feedback, thanks!Regards,Bjorn
January 27, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi, no reports yet of v1.15 update causing this, and I haven't heard of a humming noise before! Some things to check... make sure you have the latest FSUIPC 2.95, if you have changed video drivers or settings lately you might want to revert those changes... Any firewall or anti-virus software changes? FS2002 settings? New add-ons?Anyone else experiencing this with the v1.15 update?Bjorn, let me know if the above helps.. January 27, 200323 yr Hi Damian, well, actually today I uninstalled two progarms that I wasn't using much: Camtasia and Quicktime. I did not make any other changes, I reverted back to my old Nvidia drivers because the new ones wasn't working well, that was weeks ago though. I checked the sound files of all my addon aircrafts and since I installed realplay a while back, I saw that they were using realplay to reproduce sound, so I unistalled it and got Windows mediaplayer to reproduce the sound. Usually I close virus checking software, I leave only firewall running but all programs such as activesky are allowed to access internet. Maybe the unistall of those two programs erased shared files or something, and this is causing the problem? I just did a test flight without activesky and all went well, I'll try now with activesky and see.Anyway, thanks for the quick response Damian.Regards,Bjorn
January 28, 200323 yr Hi Damien,I am afraid I'm experiencing similar problems with version 1.15. I'm currently using it in offline mode and it temporarily freezes fs2002 every so often, I guess when it is updating the weather. I do have the latest FSUIPC 2.95. I don't have a firewall or any new adds ons and my video card is a Nvidia 4600 (if this helps!)I also can't get Active sky to work online - I have an active internet connection but it just says something like download timed out, will try later when trying to downlaod the weather. When i try and down load I have my AOL inetrnet connection on. I have tried it off as well but still doesn't workAny advice on both problems?CheersJames
February 3, 200323 yr Hey DamienI too experience a little bit of freezing when the WX downloads. I use DSL and have it set up to download every 5 mins. It gets the WX pretty quick show it's two quick pauses. Kinda bothersome but I can deal with it.Just letting you know.Vollmey
February 3, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi all,To anyone with stutters, please try the latest FSUIPC v2.96 and let me know if there is an improvement.. thanks!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
February 4, 200323 yr Hi Damian,Installed FSUIPC 2.96, but still get that little stutter as it updates weather. What I noticed is that probably WXre has an impact on CPU, especially when using complex panels like Pss Dash8 and A320. I tired PIC767 and it is much smoother. I will add more RAm, eventhough I have 512mb ddr. But unfortunatly having only one PC, I guess that all things going on at the same time are taking their toll even on this preety powerful PC. I guess it is never enough!:-)Regards,Bjorn Ghezzi
