January 30, 200323 yr Hi Damian,I still have those serious stutters during the weather updates. They only happen for a short time but still sometimes it is getting really annoying. My system is fairly fast and I never experienced this with the other weather program.Did you found the cause of this already?Thx,Alex
January 30, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi Alex! Some known causes of stutters:- Resource overload - too many programs running- Certain versions of FSUIPC on certain machines - suggest trying 2.94 to test.(ignore the error message at wxRE startup)- ADVDISP 1.94 (earlier).. must use ADVDISP 1.94 (latest build) www.schiratti.com/dowson.html- Problematic add-ons- Sound card issues, try reducing accelleration in DXDIAG- Video card/driver issues, try updating to latest version- Firewall configuration- Antivirus/software firewall configurationHave you tried "Force IDLE priority"? Does this help? Please check the above, and let me know if this helps... January 30, 200323 yr Hi Damian, too many programs could well be a possibility as well as problematic add-ons. All the other things you mentioned are checked already. The add-ons that are running in the background are:AOL 7.0 + Active Sky onlineFSReliabilityFSGarminFSNavTrackIRand lots of GoFlight units as well as 3 Monitors. But still these were running flawlessly with the other weather program. . Maybe ActiveSky is the problematic add-on after all :-). I will check, what happens if I only run ActiveSky without any other add-ons but of course this is not the route I want to go. If nothing helps I will buy a fourth monitor and hook AS up via WideFS.Alex
January 30, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi Patrick.. yes thanks for the catch..!!This should read 1.97.-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
January 30, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi Alex,Well let's not compare add-ons please... wxRE is doing far more in it's processing than any other weather add-on that I know of. Have you tried turning off wake turbulence? Do you have lots of AI? This requires quite a bit of overhead - it has to process all AI aircraft. Also, you may want to try "Surpress all turbulence" in FSUIPC - there is a known problem where SOME systems are affected by turbulence and AI aircraft.-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
January 31, 200323 yr Thx Damian,I will first try to disable wake turbulance. While it is a great feature, in reality it does no apply to often anyway. Because yes, I have a lot of AI planes flying. If that dooesn't help I'll go for the WideFS solution.Alex
