I have always enjoyed reading your weekly/monthly/whatever reviews. But , like you , I have become just overwhelmed with the amount and quality of FS2002 addons available. I now only download aircraft that people start to "rave" about in the forums -- but even then , I have dozens of them that I have downloaded and have never flown. There are only so many hours in a day.I guess it becomes a bit like being a child in a toyshop -- there is so much to play with that, in effect, it actually starts to inhibit your play.I know that many Simmers "specialise" by flying only Commercial jetliners, or play pretend bush pilots , or Run your own VA , etc -- but , just lately , even though I do very much enjoy learning about flight by using FS2002 , I sometimes get a bit lost in all the noise.I'm not quite sure what I should be doing.I have just started to fly the "around the world" adventures featured in the Computer Pilot magazine - at least that forces some structure into my online flying -- I must fly a particular route and use a particular aircraft (plus I use real weather)Anybody else feeling this stupid predicament ? And yes - I DO need to get a life!! :)Barry

I suspect it's a predicament may of us find ourselves in whether we know it or not.Almost everything you said above reflects my own position and astoundingly, I too resolved it (temporarily at least) with my round the world trip. I confess though that I derive almost as pleasure from tweaking panels, lights and aircraft.cfg files to get them just as I like them, as I do from flying the darned things!Ultimately, if you get enjoyment from it, then why not?

Yep, I agree wholeheartedly. It's a measure of the outstanding quality of the addons that have been released this year.I used to eagerly download everything that looked good, was duly impressed, then went back to flying my C172. The majority of people want (and get) commercial jets. I'm more interested in flying the birds that I'm likely to fly in real life. Maybe we should have some kind of survey to determine how much of a market there is for different types?

There is a survey (with over 8,000 responses).. Click on the Survey Results at the menu above.

Oh, well I feel slightly embarrassed now! Good to see that thin bases are leading the field - clearly AVSim people have taste!
