April 4, 200323 yr Commercial Member Hi all,As we near DST for many time zones (April 6th in the US), keep in mind that you will need to change your UTC conversion value in wxRE options if you physically live in a time zone that uses DST (some do not).If your timezone uses DST, you should ADD one hour to your UTC conversion value. (i.e. +8 changes to +9). If this is a negative value (i.e. -8 for PST) then adding 1 would bring it 1 closer to zero (-7 = PDT). You should make this change concurrently when you change your windows system time (will automatically prompt you if you restart on or after your DST start date). This does not apply to timezones that do not recognize daylight savings time. If you are not sure, check http://www.worldtimezone.com/daylight.htm for a listing of timezones that go DST and when they do it.When standard time resumes, you will need to make the opposite change. Thanks all! April 6, 200323 yr Damian,Thanks for the reminder! Allow me a question: I live in a city with GMT - Greenwich time (or UTC, isn Edmundo Azevedo
April 6, 200323 yr Author Commercial Member Hi, yes Edmundo.. for GMT'ers you'll have to go +1 during DST :)-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
April 7, 200323 yr Can you confirm that I only need to set the time figure once (as it is realated to my PC Clock time) - therefore then it doesn't matter where in the world I fly?... or do I have to change the setting every time I go somewhere new to fly? Many thanks.
April 7, 200323 yr Author Commercial Member Yes only need to set this once (or when DST changes), it depends on your PHYSICAL LOCATION not your FS location. Thanks!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
May 18, 200323 yr The UTC time is confused on my system, FS 2002 is set to use 'system time' under general settings,. My UTC is set to +10 hrs (Melbourne AU)in XP. FS2002 World/Season shows a time offset of only +9 hrs, any ideas?Active Sky shows FS Clock time as displayed on world/season screen but does not show FS UTC hour for TAF - its blank. Also status on wxRE does not list FSUIPC as installed yet the latest version (2.975)is installed and shows up on the FS modules menu correctly, wxRE (v1.7) does not list the FS version installed either, finally FS seems to ignore the 'System Time' setting and always defaults to the time saved in my default flight, is this normal?Confused :-)
May 18, 200323 yr Delboy,1. FS has a bug that the time offsets are not correct. Same with the date on the same screen. A program called FSRealTime can fix it. I tried it a while back, but didn't like it, but your useage may vary.2. Yes TAF times are blank. Not sure why.3. Your FSUIPC and FS Version should show up. You might need an AS re-install to fix that. This is not causing a useage problem though.4. Re-save your default flight with the System Time setting On. Your default flight should then match your system time on each start-up.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
May 19, 200323 yr Jim,Helps, sure does primarily because I can now stop pulling my system to pieces looking for problems my end and focus on using what I have!Really appreciate your prompt response, I will work through your suggestions and work around the 'inherent' bugs. Thanks again,Delboy'If it ain't fun anymore then...'
May 19, 200323 yr Done that Damien, hoever the information seems not to be saved.when entering the Option screen next time its still locked at 1Do i miss something ?[p][link:www.maddys-tours.org][/p]Athlon 1GhzAsus K7VT512MB SDRAM PC133GF3 Ti200SB-LivePlatinumWinXP pro / Suse Linux 7.2DSL Connection 768kb/s down / 128kb/s upFS2002pro
May 19, 200323 yr Author Commercial Member Hi,The "UTC Hour for download" is not the Time Zone / UTC Conversion Value. The option you need to set is down on the lower left of the options screen. The "hour for download" should remain blank unless you want to manipulate which hour will be downloaded. Without a value (default) it will automatically fetch your current cycle (hour - 1). Hope that helps!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
May 20, 200323 yr Well,I was talking bout the Time Conversion Entry in the lower part of the option panel on top of the "Force Range" valuenamed "Time Zone / UTC Conversion"if I change that to +2 what it is now, the next time I load wxReits set back to +1 ( or 1) [p][link:www.maddys-tours.org][/p]Athlon 1GhzAsus K7VT512MB SDRAM PC133GF3 Ti200SB-LivePlatinumWinXP pro / Suse Linux 7.2DSL Connection 768kb/s down / 128kb/s upFS2002pro
May 23, 200323 yr Author Commercial Member Hi,So you have auto time detection turned on then, right? If so then this is normal, it is automatically setting your UTC value...Is the problem that +2 is required yet +1 is given? Which time zone are you in?
