1.91 Final - Problem with FS2004 WEATHER WRITES

Featured Replies

I have done a uninstall and reinstall from the 1.90 Full version with the 1.91 Final upgrade. I am running WideFS etc latest versions (checked today). I have Active Sky recognizing FS9 over the network and get weather showing up just fine. However, I cannot select USE FS2004 WEATHER WRITES. If I do, I get the same error message as in the last beta: "error reading wxre.ini file", there may be an offline file/ folder incorrectly set Check your INI file".Thanks.Joe LorencPhiladelphia/Charlotte Hub Manager, Carolina Operations, VN7 Networkhttp://www.vn7network.com/

Hi Joe,In 1.91 when that error occurs and there is a folder entered in "FS2004 Path" then it means the entered folder is not being accessed correctly. What do you have this set to? Make sure not to use UNC convention, but rather a drive letter mapping to your networked FS2004 machine. For example: Drive F: mapped to drive C: on the FS2004 machine. FS2004 path set to F:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9.The FS2004 path option was tested by several folks and I have positive reports from users that indicate it is working OK, so I think there is just a typo or drive mapping issue here.. should be a simple fix. If you continue to have probs give me the details of your drive mapping and attempted FS2004 path setting. Thanks Damian,I had not had any reason previously to map the network drives so I never gave it a thought. Sorry if I missed it in the docs somewhere.Joe LorencPhiladelphia/Charlotte Hub Manager, Carolina Operations, VN7 Networkhttp://www.vn7network.com/PS: Also tried the WC 2.3.1 update and that too seems to be working great. Thanks again.

Hi Joe,Not your fault, the UNC limitation was not provided in the docs (except for the Export path info). I will fix that :)-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table
