AUTO Reports - Please allow us to disable

Featured Replies

Flew a pretty good flight this morning after tweaking more of the weather variables in FS2004 to try and get my observed cloud conditions. It was working pretty good with a 3 layer BKN and OVC deck out of central Louisiana this morning with heavy rain, when I hit a AUTO Metar and it went clear because they were not able to report any ceilings. Blew the realism real fast, activeradar had a big clear black circle in it. As I left the area things started to sock back in. I would really like an option to disable these reports since they are so darn inaccurate and mess with smoothing and realism. ThanksSteve

Hi Steve,Thanks for the suggestion. This has been suggested before as well... I will work on it for the maintenance update :) Ideally however instead of discarding the info, only the cloud info should be replaced via existing interpolation routines. The vis, wind, temp/dew, and altimeter setting should remain.Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg

Sorry it was me who suggested it the day it came out. I agree the other data is relevant. I just wanted to pass on that I was getting close to finally getting the weather that was observed after tweaking and I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but do you think virus software on the WideFS computer could be messing with data being passed?? Just a thought.Steve
