January 7, 200422 yr Commercial Member Copied from another thread...We are working on a new settings guideline based on the experience we've gained in the past few weeks, and it will be based on the MR1 fixes. This is planned for inclusion in MR1.Ideal settings until then would depend on your FSUIPC type.. Registered:All FSUIPC weather options off except Vis smoothing, graduated visibility and baro smoothingAS2004: Global Writes ON, Route Based Wind Smoothing ON, Extended Destination Winds Force OFF, Local Suppression ON at 80 miles, Update Suppression on at 5000ft, Visibility Smoothing off. Do not load a flight plan in AS2004 (ActiveRadar is ok). If you want to use the Navlog go ahead and load a route, but clear your route via NEW ROUTE, CLOSE before nearing your destination, as there is a known issue here.Unregistered:FSUIPC: Minimum Weather DefaultsAS2004: Global Writes ON, Route Based Wind Smoothing ON, Extended Destination Winds Force OFF, Local Suppression ON at 80 miles, Update Suppression on at 5000ft, Visibility Smoothing on. Do not load a flight plan in AS2004 (ActiveRadar is ok). If you want to use the Navlog go ahead and load a route, but clear your route via NEW ROUTE, CLOSE before nearing your destination, as there is a known issue here. All other options to preference...It should be noted that the ideal settings will vary widely to your tastes, there is a very subjective view here but the above would be my recommendation for maximum realism given then current status of AS2004 v1.0, FSUIPC 3.135 and FS9.Hope that helps!Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
January 8, 200422 yr Damian,Just wondering why to not add the flight plan? Also, I have a registered version of FSUIPC but have never really played with the settings in it, where can I find the baro smoothing and graduated vis?
January 11, 200422 yr Damian,Is the suggestion not to load a plan in AS2004 related to whatever it is that causes crazy airspeed excursions during climb and descent? I've never seen them with wxRE in 2002 but I see it with both the PSS A330 and the PMDG 737-700. I've been tempted to turn much of the other smoothing in FSUIPC back on but have resisted the temptation so far.Any other thoughts?cz
