Problems with Aloft Server?

Featured Replies

Hello, I am using wXRE 1.91 with FS 2002 pro. I have not been on the sim for a while (throught the Xmas and New Year season), and decided to give it a try this morning. It did not turn out right because I kept on getting the message that there was a communication error with the aloft server. Is this true, or could it be a problem from my side?

Hi,A few other users were also reporting this. I tried on Tuesday afternoon and everything went well. I just tried again while typing this and things went well again. The aloft server could have been having problems.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Jim, This issue still persists up till my last try at 18:45Z.However, from what you said it affects some and not others? Are there different servers where we download the aloft data from? Maybe according to geographical location?

Same here all day , last try at 1730 GMT ..... US east coastJimBob

Hi,I have only just got ActiveSky and am trying to go through the first download stage. I get the same error message after the downloading winds message. I am in the UK so am not sure what server I access. Last time I tried was 21.30 GMTKeith

Just tried again - still get the same error message 'Erroe or timeout downloading' appearing. Don't know why. I have checked the low bandwidth for the winds aloft, but that makes no difference.Keith

Hi All,I just tried and got one good download and then the timeout message. This means that there is a problem at NOAA. Every user is tapping into the same server so that elimates that. Please, please, keep in mind that the weather processing is still taking place, but you just are not getting winds aloft data. Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
