nt.dll Errors?

Featured Replies

I noticed that after installing AS, sometimes my computer just boots out of fs2004 without warning. Rarely its tells me that "FS9 has encountered an error and do I want to report it" It seems the culprit stated is nt.dll. Anyone know anything about this, or is it just me? By the way, I have not downloaded the Alpha patch, as that I am waiting for the "official" patch.

Thanks for the quick reply Jim. Yes I have this file in my Windows subdirectory, version number is 5.1.2600.1217. What does this file have to do with fs9 or Activesky?

Hi,There are many causes for FS2004 (or 2002) crashes, many have been documented, and none found to have anything to do with AS2004...What else have you changed/installed? Common causes are old drivers (video and sound), buggy scenery, buggy ai aircraft, hardware conflicts, etc...The module crashing is not really indicative of the root problem (nt.dll as the module in this case). It sounds memory leak related, might want to check your drivers and any scenery/AI add-ons! Does this help?Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg

Wow, you guys are really fast, I just posted. You're right Damian, the ntdll.dll is related to a memory leak somewhere, and could be from a million sources. I'll look into my memory further. I must say, you have EXCELLENT support!!!

Also be advised, there is an apparent known Seasonal crash issue which happens in certain areas in winter time only.... This is FS9 stock, nothing related to any add-on. Have you checked the main FS forum? Search for seasonal... Maybe this is happening?Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg
