wxRE Wind Server Is Back Up!!!

Featured Replies

Hi All,The wind server for wxRE is back up (for now). You can always check on your own by going here:http://raob.fsl.noaa.gov/This is a heads up for all our wxRE users!!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

But seems to be down again. As at 11:43 CET. For WxRE V1.91.If we could switch to a reliable, private server that required a reasonable annual subscription, I wouldn't mind paying.I fully understand that this is not a fault of the ActiveSky team and imply no critisism of this excellent product- wanted to make that clear guys!Gavin

Hi Gavin,Thanks for the input..Unfortunately the last time I suggested a similar solution for wxRE, it was met with much resistance from several users and even some threats. I quickly retracted the suggestion... Perhaps we should take another poll, maybe opinions have changed? The best solutioun I can think of would be to provide a new wxRE Enhanced version upgrade, with HiFi DataNet source option. The price would need to be somewhere in the $20 US range, and it would be an upgrade (wxRE would be required). This would permit "unlimited" access to HiFi DataNet, and include the special HiFi / wxRE data source translator. There would be no set period / term of access, just as with AS2004, the server will be available forever if we can help it... (through 2006 at an absolute minimum)..How many would be interested in something like this? If there is a strong enough demand and a positive acceptance then I will certainly get to work on it! DamianSorry for the delay getting back to you.I would certainly be prepared to pay around US$20 for better server access. If you made an 'optional' WXRE V1.9XPayware Server Option for us old FS2K2 users, with the 'pay for server' option, I don't think anyone would be able to object. Possibly there's just too few of us to make it worth your while.Maybe you should start a new thread with this proposal. If you use the word 'optional' at least 20 times per line, I think most of the 'payware as Anti-Christ' types will keep of your back. Thanks for your continued support!Gavin
