March 12, 200422 yr Hello Damian, I seem to have run into a stumbling block trying to D/L any weather no matter if I select CURRENT or ARCHIVE. I have FS2004 on the main computer and AS2004 on the client computer. I have selected the DEFAULT options in AS2004. The Radar display does come up on FS2004 when CNTRL-F12 is selected but there is no weather displayed although the airports and Navaids are. When I try to connect to D/L the weather, using the client, I receive a response from my ISP: "UNABLE TO ESTABLISH CONNECTION". I am not sure what is happening and I think I need some help.PS. Is there a special folder where the Weather files would be saved to after a successful D/L ?Thank You
March 12, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi Blias,It was working before, right? What has changed? Any new internet or firewall software? If using a firewall, make sure to enable use of ActiveSky2004 (and it's associated modules) for sending and receiving traffic. This is done easily using the firewall configuration software. Does this help?-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 13, 200422 yr Hello Damian, I am not sure what worked last night, if anthing, with my AS2004 Damian. I AM Confused. I do not have any firewall software and only Norton AV which I disabled when I re-downloaded the ActiveSky files. My setup is (1) server and (2) client connected via WideFS which works like a charm with Radar Contact. FS2004 is installed on the server and I installed AS2004 on the client. I tried installing the MR1 update from the server, and after cleaning up, I tried installing the update from the client. I also tried this installation with WideFS active and with it not active. I noticed no difference in the results. I see no file "ActiveRadarConnector2.exe" on my machine at all so I tried "ActiveRadarConnector.exe" but again no luck. I tried the manual installation by moving the ActiveRadar.dll and the ActiveRadar folder to my FS2004/Modules folder but again no luck. (I clean up each time I try a sequence so that I start from the same place all the time. I have Drive D on the client mapped as Drive Z on my server. I am thoroughly confused!!! I do have a question and hope it makes sense: Once I get things running correctly do I try to connect to your server with my server (FS2004) or my client (AS2004)? I tried it both ways but still no success. I don't exactly know what I did with last night's installation as I didn't take notes. I don't believe AS2004 worked for me as you envisioned the program to work. I will say again that I am thoroughly confused Damian. Thanks for your supportCheers
March 13, 200422 yr Damiam, I think Blias did just what I did, notice he said "normal defaults", which as in my case "unticked" the online update function.Blais, as Damian told me go check your options menu and see if on-line updates is checked. When I hit normal defaults when tweaking AS, I reset this function to "OFF".To be honest Damian, I think MOST of us use AS4 connected to the internet, you may want to re-think if the "normal" default setting should be online not the other way around.CheersBob
March 13, 200422 yr Hello Damian and the group, I just did a complete uninstall of AS2004 and then an install of AS2004 but this time on the main computer (server) which has FS2004 on it. AS2004 seems to run fine this way, including D/L'ing of weather, but doesn't when AS2004 is installed on the client. Yet I mentioned previously that Radar Contact works very well on the server/client setup I have here. I guess we will need some more investigation as to why AS2004 doesn't do too well if installed on the client.Regards
March 13, 200422 yr Blias,I don't think AS can run outside of FS9, it is a module like FSUIPC. Radar Contact is a total program running outside of FS9, which explains why it works and AS2004 does not.Bob
March 13, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi Blais,Do you have internet accessed configured correctly on the client PC, with IE installed? -Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
March 13, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi Bob,Actually AS2004 itself is not a module. It can run on a remote PC via WideFS.ActiveRadar, on the otherhand, is a module which must be run inside of FS.-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
