March 21, 200422 yr Hi DamienI have had Activesky for FS2004 for a day, it is great but today I am unable to get accurate Taf reflection in active sky vs actual data, online updates are on in active sky and is functioning ok but am not seeing correct taf data as belowTaf from Air services Australia for Coolongatta GOLD COAST (YBCG) TAF YBCG 210349Z 0624 14015KT 9999 LIGHT SHOWERS OF RAIN SCT030 FM14 19012KT 9999 LIGHT SHOWERS OF RAIN FEW020 SCT040 FM23 14018KT 9999 LIGHT SHOWERS OF RAIN SCT025 T 26 24 23 21 Q 1010 1011 1012 1011 TAF YBCG 202212Z 0018 14015KT 9999 LIGHT SHOWERS OF RAIN SCT030 FM14 19010KT 9999 LIGHT SHOWERS OF RAIN FEW020 SCT040 T 25 26 26 24 Q 1011 1009 1008 1010 METAR YBCG 210430Z 15014KT //// 26/17 Q1009 RMK RF00.0/000.0 CLD:SCT036 VIS:9999Taf as depicted from activesky downloadYBCG 210400Z 13012KT 9999 FEW038 SCT240 27/16 Q1009 RMK RF00.0/000.0YBCG 000000Z 000000 20015KT 9999 BKN050 BECMG 0606 SCT020 BKN045 TEMPO 0918 9000 -RA BKN015 RMK AUTO GENERATED AS2004 RMK AUTO GENERATED AS2004As you can see they are nothing alike and this is occuring on any airport I try, I am using the procedures as stated in the read meI have tried for hours with different settings but can not find anything close to real world conditions for any airport, plese help. When I import a flight plan for any airports in australia I am unable to get any enroute weather even when doing a flight across australia, I am also wondering if active sky can provide any area forecast winds, not sure what use it is knowing the arrival and destination weather if you do not know the winds at lower levels for flight planning purposes IE 10000 to ground level, hope I am just doing something wrong as I really do want accurate weather depiction as well as enroute weather and winds for flight planning.RegardsWayne Wayne such Asus Hero Z690, Gigabyte Aorus Master 5080, I914900K, Kraken 360 AIO CPU Cooled, 96 GIGS Corsair DDR5, 32 Inch 4K by 3
March 21, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi,Well I've tried and tried and am unable to duplicate. I noticed that YBCG did not have any METAR reports go out to the ICAO database intermittently over the past 48 hours. Seems to be back to normal though.Strangely, you report getting a METAR (ungenerated, real METAR) but there was no METAR information available for YBCG at the time you mentioned. Where did this come from? The TAF is strange as well, I note the correct one, not auto-generated in the server logs. Not sure how you got that one.I can assure you we have many Australian flyers who aren't experiencing problems. Either there is something wrong in the setup or perhaps you experienced a temporary issue with the data. In either case I can't see any problems at the moment. Can you please retry and let me know your results? As per no enroute winds during brief - haven't heard of that one. Can you please send me your .PLN? [email protected]. Thank you!-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
