July 10, 200421 yr Do never-ending updates of the paid version of FSUIPC (now 3.3 released) help us in terms of making AS working better, faster?Just wondering.Thanks.
July 10, 200421 yr Yes, yes.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
July 10, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi,Not just AS either. FSUIPC registered provides many benefits to the entire FS experience!Note that registered FSUIPC is NOT required for AS2004 and it's features, but it permits a much wider range of control (such as smoothing transition rates and more). July 10, 200421 yr HiI assume that your recommended settings when using AS2004 with the new FSUIPC, is still to have FSUIPC set to 'Minimum Weather Defaults'?ThanksRegardsGraham
July 10, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi Graham,That is correct. You can start with minimum weather defaults and go from there. The wind and visibility transition settings should then be adjusted to preference (with registered FSUIPC), but will work just fine with AS2004 at the normal defaults.Hope that helps! July 12, 200421 yr Right Damian thanks. That does make it slightly different from previous AS2004 incarnations where you just tended to recommended the normal defaults.I have had a little fiddle, and it appears to be working very well. Thanks for your efforts (and Pete's)RegardsGraham
July 12, 200421 yr I noticed that AS works considerably faster with FSUIPC v.3.3 while starting the program and downloading data to FSUIPC.It appeared to me though, that interference of FSUICP generated weather effects - even with minimum defaults - reincarnated stutter/idle effect if weather conditions were heavy.I flew PMDG Beechcraft (used to be very fluid) in North Norway. Rain and shifting winds made FS idle every minute or so. It should be checked in comparison with FSUICP "No Defaults" mode - when the whole weather situation relies on AS.Would like to hear other opinions.
July 12, 200421 yr Hi,No stutters here. If every minute then it could be auto-save working, if you use it. Or anti-virus or other software on your system. With heavy weather you may need to turn down some options.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
July 12, 200421 yr Hi Jim,Good thread! What is "auto-save"? Is this a function of AS, FS, or the OS?Thanks,Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
July 12, 200421 yr Hi Bruce,The answer is D-None of the above. You can tell I've been teaching too long!Auto-save is a small .dll by Pete Dowson that automatically saves your flight every XX minutes. You can get it here:http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlHope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
