August 8, 200421 yr Hi AllI'm at 11,000 feet and climbing away north from LIRN bound for EGKK. The weather at LIRN is as follows:LIRN 081850Z VRB03KT 9999 FEW030 24/20 Q1012LIRN 081700Z 081803 VRB03KT 9999 SCT030 BECMG 2022 6000FL030: 187/05 (23.1) FL060: 254/06 (19.0) FL090: 263/11 (16.1)FL120: 284/26 (3.6) FL180: 297/37 (-12.0) FL240: 288/32 (-23.3)FL300: 299/32 (-29.8) FL340: 320/37 (-47.7) FL390: 302/36 (-54.8)I am using the latest version of AS2004 (B130) with FSUIPC v3.308. All settings standard defaults apart from minor variations for VATSIM. Has anyone else experienced thses white diamonds covering the ground ahead of them as they fly (see attached)? On my system they are not peculiar to version B130, I had them before this upgrade but thought I'd wait to see if the upgrade fixed this.Paul Croft10 miles SE of EGLL Paul Croft 15 mls north of EGKK
August 8, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi Paul,I think I remember seeing something about this.. related to a cloud add-on which replaces stratus textures in effort to provide a solid overcast. Do you have this? If so, the solution is to get rid of it, requiring original fs (or FSW) textures...Does that help? Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
August 9, 200421 yr Author AFAIK the only cloud textures I have are the originals + the FSW ones. However, if something like this could be the cause I'll reinstate just the original FS9 textures and take it from there. Thanks, as has been said by many others, for your wonderful after-sales service and support.Paul Croft10 miles SE of EGLL Paul Croft 15 mls north of EGKK
August 9, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi Paul,You may also want to update your video drivers if you aren't on the latest....Let us know how it goes! Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
August 9, 200421 yr Author Hi DamianNow running nVidia v6.1.3.6 and the problem is solved. I didn't initially twig this as a driver issue because I thought I'd been running the previous driver for longer than I'd been seeing the problem. Added to which I abhor changing drivers unless there's no other choice. Not that it's difficult, just that, as often as not, there seem to be two steps forward and one step back where updated video drivers are concerned :-)Thanks again for your time and best regards as ever,Paul Croft10 miles SE of EGLL Paul Croft 15 mls north of EGKK
