August 24, 200421 yr Hi,With the latest 4.5 vs, AS2004 report(after import of FP) seems to be more consistant with wind/dir/speed displayed on de ND of PMDG 737NG.However there seems to be differences between both of +/- : 0
August 24, 200421 yr Hi,Not sure how PMDG reports wind direction, but AS reports true direction, not magnetic as in FS04. Is your aloft predictability set at 100%?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
August 24, 200421 yr Hi Jim,thanks for response and yes it is set to 100%.Is there some other setting to be looked at ? (AS2004/FSUIPC)Patten
August 24, 200421 yr Please post your AS2004.ini and I'll take a look!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

August 24, 200421 yr Hi,OK your settings look good. Change Wind Drift Rate to zero and what happens. That is a new option even for me so I am not sure what results you will get. Please let us know!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
August 24, 200421 yr Jim,I had just changed this from 0 to 1 , so what I mentioned was with setting =0. I have to find out if set to 1 will improve something.I'm sceptical about it but I'll give it a try.greets, Patten
August 24, 200421 yr No, a value of one will give you a little drift. That's why I suggested zero!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
August 26, 200421 yr Jim,I installed beta vs 142 and had a flight LFMN-LIML with better results,lets say : differance of < 5kts and < 5
August 26, 200421 yr That is within limits!Thanks for your report.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
September 3, 200421 yr Hi Jim,last time(s), again I had some significant difference between AS2004 report and the indication on my ND (dir and spd).BUT, I think I'm the one to blame (or not?).Because I'm late from work(at dark) and like to watch the clouds, when flying I change the time in FS to day or dusk.So could it be that this is what makes the difference?greets, patten
September 3, 200421 yr Hi,In AS are you using system time?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
September 3, 200421 yr OK thanks. Then changing the FS clock should not cause things to change.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
September 3, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi,How are you noting a difference? Are you considering the difference between magnetic and true? Remember AS text reports are in TRUE. The ND will be magnetic.Check this post for more information:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...mode=full#11254Does this explain things? Let me know if you are indeed experiencing wrong directions on the ND after converting based on the magnetic variations. Thanks! Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
