Downloading Weather On Another Computer

Featured Replies

It probably can't be done, but I'll ask anyway: my cable modem will be inoperative for a few days, so all my flights are grounded since I always fly with real weather, using Active Sky. I was wondering whether there might be a way to download weather on another computer and then use that info in AS offline?ricardo

Hi,You can install AS on the other computer and save the weather. Then that file will fit on a floppy to move it to your other computer.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Jim:I'm not sure I quite understand how to download weather on a computer that doesn't have FS9 installed. Say, I want to download the current weather for a flight from New York To Washington DC, then move it to the computer with FS9 on it. Is this possible?ThanksRicardo

AS weather downloads whether you are running FS9 or not. Give it a try!Gary

Hi,Just to add to what Gary said: When AS downloads the weather, it really doesn't care where you are at because it downloads worldwide weather. Even this file will fit on a floppy disk. Once you move it over to your FS machine and load the file into AS, then your location will be determined, just as you are used to seeing. All you are doing is running in Offline Mode with a weather file imported from a floppy.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
