should cloud layer be changed to 3 for most of us?

Featured Replies

WIth this sytem do you suggest i change it to 3? Will 4 also be a good value, what are most people using with p4 3.0 ghz 1 gig ram and ati 9800 pro 128mb.Thanks!

Try both in a heavily clouded situation at a detailed airport with as much AI traffic as you wish to have and see which value of layers produces a frame rate that is acceptable for you. It is all relative. Good luck.

Hi All,As stated this is a relative value. It depends on your CPU, graphics card, and AI Traffic. We first suggest unlimited, then 5, then 3. We hope that a user never needs to go below 3. There are now the different cloud resolutions and Mips or no Mips thrown into the mix. Add to this your Cloud Draw Distance in FS04 and you have a situation where we hope to work one on one with a user experiencing a problem. Wait until the DTX clouds are issued and there will be more variables added into this!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

I've been using 3 the whole time - same as I used with AS2004.
