ASV Ceiling issues

Featured Replies

Hello hifisim. ASV is an incredible product! The enroute weather is absolutely spectacular. However I am experiencing issues in regards to the reported METAR weather at any airport. I just flew into KEKA with the closest reporting station KACV. KACV is 11nm N and was reporting 031853Z AUTO 30008KT 10SM OVC003 13/11 A3006 RMK AO2 SLP184 T01330111I did the GPS RNAV 11 approach expecting to never see the airport at the MDA but to my amazement i broke out of the clouds around 1,100 feet. the airport elevation is 54 feet. Irregardless of what airport I select, the lowest possible ceiling hovers around this altitude. What is very interesting is if the surrounding terrain is mountainous and the elevation is around the magical 1,000 ft of altitude the cloud layer will extend down to the ground. It is almost as if the airport is surrounded by an invisible bubble which restricts extremely low ceilings. I successfully fixed my abrupt visibility changes by reseting the FSUIPC module to the default settings but the ceiling issue remains. Does anyone have a solution for this problem? Would appreciate any help. Hi,Why is your supression ceiling at 200000? That means anytime you are under this value ASV is not sending its data to FS. Unless you are using the space shuttle please re-set this to 4000! Or maybe it was a typo! There have been reports of this and we are looking into the issue. Please watch the forum for further updates!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

Hi. Yes I am going by what the manual says. Any short term fixes? If you guys can get the ceiling down to what the metar is reporting this ASV will be perfect.

Hi Jim. Yes Typo. The supression ceiling is 20,000 but it is unchecked and therefore greyed out. I will try a flight with the option at the default setting and see if it helps with the ceiling issue.
