RMK AUTOGEN ASV

Featured Replies

Hi,As the topic suggests...what does that mean...that the weather is not really actual but generated by ASV? And if so...is that because there's no reporting weather stations nearby?Haven't really thought of this before but now I seem to see that message almost on every flight. Thanks in advance for an explanation,

Hi,It means the the wx station displayed did not have its own data from real-world sources. ASV then automatically generates a METAR string using nearby sources and/or TAF information (if enabled).Best,

OK, thanks Damian and when it says something about surpressed...? I thought that was when for instance you're flying below the ceiling you've set for weather updates but I've seen this message even when I'm above that. All the best,

Hi,"RMK OLD RMK SUPPRESSED" will shown when the METAR has been updated but the station is within your local suppression range... thus the wx change (probably small) has been masked to prevent a sudden instant transition of the cloudscape....This is different from "Update suppression", which prevents all updates (at any range) below the suppression altitude (unless on ground).Best,
