November 21, 200520 yr Does anyone know if I can use FSW clouds with ASV? seems that after upgrading to ASV my frame rates have taken a big hit. Even with 64 X 64 DXT clouds in my Level D 767 after leaving SEA the other day my FPS hit as low as 8. I was using Active Sky 4.5 before and had FPS in the solid 20s everywhere what happened? I have my cloud layers set to max of 3 and my sliders on the lower end. Seems like I wasted my money any ideas? My system is 2.8 GHZ AMD1.0 mb memoryNvidia 5500 FX OC
November 21, 200520 yr Commercial Member HI Mike,Did you have enabled mips in active environment? The clouds in Active Environment are optimized and better then fsw, There is 32 bits and dxt, on some system dxt have lower performance and on others better system, and on others 32bit 256x256 is the best, each system are differents. To compare with as 4.5 use the same metar files.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
November 21, 200520 yr Author Thanks for the quick response Chris. I do have mips enabled and it seems my best results are with the 64X64 DXT. I have even tried it with the default Lear and with ASVE not even running I see FPS in the 60s sitting at SEA at soon as ASVE takes over FPS drop to 30s and drop a little from there after takeoff. I know that Level D 767 and other add ons eat alot of resources but I just didnt have all these problems with 4.5.I would just re install 4.5 but I like ASVE and I spent the money for it. I also accidently deleted 4.5 and dont have the orginal install files. Im not ready to give up on it yet just trying to figure out what the prob. is.Mike
