Gauge file extraction??

Featured Replies

Okay, I don't know how it happened, but all the gauges for my Cessna Caravan have gone missing!I really don't want to re-install the whole simulator (FS2002 Pro) again, so does anyone know of a way to extract the guage files from the original CD's??Thanks.-----------"Oh, my GOD! I don't have my CDs to hand at present, so I can't give you an exact location, but if you open up the FS2002 CD in Windows Explorer you should be able to find some CAB files. These are Zipped files, and if you examine them you should be able to find the set of gauges. From what I remember the Caravan uses its own gauges.cab file that should be put into your FS2002Gauges folder as is, not extracted into the individual *.gau files. If you check the panel.cfg file for your Caravan you should be able to see the name of the cab file you need. It should be listed as something like:xxxxx!aaaa.gauxxxxx!bbbb.gauxxxxx!cccc.gauwhere xxxxx is the cab file and aaaa, bbbb, cccc the individual gau files it contains.Alastair

In your fs2002gauges folder you should have these:cessna208.gaucessna208b.gauIf not, use an unzipping program on the *.cab files on your fs2002 CDs and file those files, extract to your gauges folder and see if it fixes your problem. Also make sure you didn't somehow modify or delete your default C208 panel.cfg file.
