December 28, 200520 yr Hello.I'm hoping someone can answer a quick question for me.I thought I read something awhile back about changing the time of day in FS9 and having that be an issue for ASVE.Is it possible to get everything setup (download weather, generate flightplan, etc.) and then change the time of day in FS9 when you are ready to fly or is this a no-no?Thanks!
December 28, 200520 yr Hi,This can be in Offline mode with TAFs On. The problem is what weather to expect, the METAR or the TAF.In Online mode it's not a problem, the current weather can be used at any time in FS04.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
December 28, 200520 yr Author Here we go again... I'm confused. If the current weather can be used at any time in FS04 then where is the problem? I believe right now TAF is off. That's the default, right? I am flying in offline mode as well. Are you saying that there could be a problem only if TAF is on?
December 28, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,AS doesn't care about FS time unless you have TAF processing enabled and "Use system time" unchecked. TAF and Use system time are off by default so you are all set to change FS time without any effect. If you were using TAF processing, it requires computation of time... if "use system time" is unchecked (using FS time), changing FS time WOULD thus have an effect and unless this was properly aligned to the wx in use (i.e. current time if online mode or archive time if offline) you would get unexpected wx results.Hope that helps, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
