January 11, 200620 yr Just a few questions. When downloading this update should I delete the previous versions? Also although it was no problem using dxt textures before I am unable to access this feature on the new download I just get the error message that it is not enabled within FS9 (which it is) and I have checked and there are no multiple entries either.
January 11, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi..Which update? If you mean SU1C, just install over the top...As for DXT issues, try the SU1C update. Are you on WideFS? Do you have (or have you ever had) FS9 installed on the WideFS Machine? This can confuse things, and you can fix by removing the WideFS's Docs and SettingsUsernameApplication DataMicrosoftFS9 folder, or, if you want to keep FS9 on this machine (for whatever reason) you can adjust the FS9.cfg in this folder to not contain RenderToTexture=0 statements. Make sure to check all possible display entries in both the actual FS9.cfg and any redundant FS9.cfg as explained above.Does this help?Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
January 13, 200620 yr Author I mean the previous version ASV WX.I do not have Wide Fs installed but on the subject of Render to Texture although I have this option checked within FS9 the FS9.cfg states that Render to texture=0.So what should it read if this option is checked?
January 13, 200620 yr Author Sorted the Render to texture problem by deleting the =0 line in FS9.CFG and restarting FS9. That seemed to work.So I just need to know if I need to unistall all previous versions of Avtive Sky now I have the ASv6 update installed?
January 13, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi,You don't need to, but you certainly can. You will need to run a quick "repair" on the ASv6 installation (from the setup program or via add/remove programs) to replace some of the shared components.By deleting ASV you can save upwards of 1GB depending on which texture sets you had installed.Note that if you need to re-install ASv6 without the need for ASV in the future, BACKUP your full installation for ASv6 which was created during the Unwrap process. This normally goes in C:ActiveSky 6 Install Files.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
