New random textures for every new flight

Featured Replies

Hi friends,I'm sure this has been covered before but once again...if I choose via the options to auto-submit 'Random All' for both Full Sky and Cirrus Themes does that mean I will always get all new textures for every new flight I make even if I don't let ASv6 process before I start FS? And will all textures be randomly picked and submitted for every flight, ie approach lights etc or only the clouds? I remember in the previous version there was a checkbox you could check if you wanted all kinds of textures to be auto-submitted but here it only says Full Sky and Cirrus?I also remember from the previous version that the answer to my question was that I WILL get all new textures for every flight...only that the textures submitted to FS will not show until next time I restart FS since the update of textures will not work when FS is already running. Is this answer still valid for this new version? My goal is simply to have the most varied environment to fly in from flight to flight and for all different textures allowing me to always see something new and explore ASv6 and all that's in it as much as possible. And then of course I still want the environment to be as close to the real thing and what I see when looking out of the window as possible...all these demanding customers...sigh...;-)I used the wx-influenced themes for a while but then switched to Random All since I got the impression that choice will give me a more changing environment and let me see more of ASv6?Thanks in advance,

Hi Web,1. The answer from ASV is still the same for ASv6. It's not us, it's the way FS04 deals with textures. We know it is a pain sometimes. It was easier in FS02, and we hope in FSX.2. In the All Random Theme you can uncheck the textures that you do not want submitted.3. All Random will allow you to see more combination of ASv6.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg

Hi,Some more information:You won't get the "Full" auto-submit to occur unless FS9 is closed. If FS9 open, you get the "Cirrus" auto-submit only. If you use the ASG interface, then it works the same way as ASV/AE, in that you can "submit" at any time, FS9 closed or open, and FS9 must be started/restarted before changes take effect. In your case, using Random All themes with auto-submit, you'll need to close FS9 during the initial ASv6 load and process, and you'll see the message "Auto-submitting full sky theme", which takes about 10 seconds. Then as you start and carry on your flight, the cirrus textures will be updated every update interval. With Wx-Influenced, it can be very random, but it of course depends on the weather. If you're starting up in similar weather conditions each time, there isn't going to be as much variation. So basically you can get the "changing" environment but influenced by the conditions and more varied over a longer time period. With Random you'll get to see more quicker without any influence from wx.Best,

OK, thanks guys! But just to make sure I understand - do I have to manually submit anything or will all kinds of textures be submitted automatically only that I won't see the effect until next time I start FS?

Hi,1. Use the Auto Submit option in ASv6.2. If FS is running you will not get any textures updated except Cirrus, so FS9 MUST BE CLOSED before your flight to get all the other textures submitted as desired.[Edit by DC to make this a bit more clear]Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg

OK, so all textures will in fact be submitted to FS even when it's already running...only that I will not see them until the next restart of FS.Thanks Jim!

Hi,No, not via auto-submit. FS must be closed for the full texture submit to even launch. If you don't use auto-submit, then YES FS can be already running and when restarted it will depict the changes. To recap, FS9 MUST BE CLOSED BEFORE YOUR FLIGHT to have your texture submissions work correctly with auto-submit.Best,

Hi Web,If FS04 and ASv6 are both running, Auto Submit recognizes this and only sends Cirrus textures to FS04.Yes, you can manually send all textures through ASG and those will show up the next time you start FS04 I believe.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg

OK, good thing I asked once more then becuase that means ASv6 DOESN'T behave like the old version in this regard. Because there you could have FS running and still ASV would auto-submit ALL textures only that you wouldn't see the newly submitted textures until next time you restarted FS.Thanks for the clarification guys!
