February 2, 200620 yr I have had ASV about a month now and everything seems fine with the program itself. The problem I'm having happened as well with FSMeteo but no one could solve it. I have the Flight1 Meridian and fly it a lot. Whenever I have ASV running and am nicely cruising along, the sim updates the weather and it's almost as if my plane is hit by something. My airspeed instantly jumps to above red line (188) and the annoying overspeed horn sounds. It eventually settles back to my normal settings, but then the whole thing starts again at the next update. I thought it might also happen during scenery loads, but I tried flying without ASV and just the FS Fair scenario and everything's fine. I remember trying FSMeteo's tech support at the time I first noticed the problem and I seem to remember they suggested turning off wind transitions but it did not help. This was not the reason I decided to change to FSV but I did hope the problem would go away anyway. Does anyone have any ideas how I can stop this annoying problem? I guess could learn to live with it but it must be doing something to my flight airspeed/time accuracy since it happens during most updates and takes a while to settle back to normal. I have also noticed it slightly with other aircraft such as the Cessna but not as bad. Thanks. Regards, Tom
February 2, 200620 yr Hi Tom,Do you have a registered version of FSUIPC? If yes, you may need to adjust your wind transition values to something lower than 5 degrees per second.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
February 2, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi,Changes in ANY weather parameters during updates should NOT be depicted in the local area in any circumstance when using the default local suppression options. Changes should only occur beyond the suppression range. So having your aircraft respond to wind changes, etc., during updates is not right. On the other hand, very small response during horizontal area transitions into different wind parameters, at the default 5kts/degs per second might be visible depending on your aircraft (in which registered FSUIPC can help by allowing change of the smoothing rate) but this only affects the in-flight/real-time smoothing, not updates. One potential cause for this might be when flying in certain areas with very low wx station density. ASv6 (free upgrade from ASV is available) really helps minimize this situation by adding new stations into the FS database (over 500) and bridging the gap between such low-density areas. We therefor highly recommend doing the upgrade. Other than that, make sure your suppression options are correct (perhaps try "Set Defaults").Please let us know if this helps at all..Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
February 2, 200620 yr Funny, I also fly the Piper Meridian (FS2004 version) quite often, but I've never experienced such a problem - neither with ASV nor AS6./ Jesper
