February 11, 200620 yr At Cyul 5:00 pm local EST time the winds in real life were at 140 at 10 kts, in ASV they were 230 at 02 kts and in fetching the report in ASV it was 000 at 00 kts and in fs9 as per the tower they were 130 at 8 kts?Whats going on?
February 11, 200620 yr Hi Joe,Looks like some bad data. I tested this out and found the same thing. Please keep us up to date.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
February 12, 200620 yr Author Hi Jim i'm stll fetching the 000 @ 00 data and the runway was chosen by the winds in fs9 and not the ones in ASV now another wind speed was reported by active radar 000 at 002 however not only CYUL but the whole route including arrival airport.Hmmm hasn't happened before to me with the new ASV.
February 13, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi,I attempted to duplicate. Could not at first, but then tried a different startup situation and saw 130 @ 8 knots at very start (before CYUL data had been process and written). As soon as the update completed, approximately 5 seconds after, the wind slowly transition to approx 060 at 2kts. This is all normal in my experience. If there is no data for direct wind control to use to depict winds yet (i.e. before first update completes at current location) then the winds are going to need a little time to settle in.If the winds stay erroneous after time, then this is a problem.. something I cannot duplicate so any help to replicate would be appreciated. FWIW remember we always write 2 or 3 kts instead of 0 because FS has a problem interpolating stations containing no wind data, and the direction will be "variable" in these "calm wind" settings, any direction would be normal. As for "real life" being off from last valid METAR report as reported by that airport, that is something we cannot change. Perhaps the winds changed significantly just after the METAR report was issued?Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
