Hi Tom,Many of us have used both with no problems. I am trying to get the update for RC to 4.01 but I guess I have to register or join some other group for that. I sent an e-mail to them to get the process started but it all seems like a lot to go through to get an update. Others running RC 4.01 seem to have no trouble. With computers it is hard to be sure what is going on sometimes.

Well I got the 4.01 update for Radar Contact and after flying from BOS-MIA, MIA-LAX, LAX-IAD I have has no lockups. That's around 13 hours of flying. I was having one almost every flight before, usually near the end of the flight but not always. If the problem resurfaces I will let you know. Thanks.Tom Landry

Well it took a couple weeks but it happened again. One thing I have noticed is that the first time it started happening is right after I installed Active Sky v6. I updated to RC 4.01 and the problem seemed to go away. Yesterday I installed Ground Environment and two flights later it happened again. A few minutes ago it occured to me that there may be some relation between installig the new program and the lockups, not a problem with ASv6 specifically. It also occured to me that the Radar Contact lockup may just be the result of FS crashing and RC never gets properly shut down. Other are having the same problem with many of the same programs I am running so I will keep up on their threads too. Any thoughts about this will be appreciated.

No error messages. I am running an AMD 64 FX 55, 1GB memory, Nvidia 6800 Ultra, windows XP, Soundblaster Audigy Platinum 2. I have done two more flights (EGLL-LFPG and LFPG-KLAX) an no problems. That's 9 flights with the LDS 767 and olny one crash. It used to happen about every other flight so maybe that last one was just random. I have done 3 flights with the PSS Airbus Pro and there have never been any FS crashes. I just got that so it hasn't been used much. I have cleaned the inside of my computer and installed a fan in the only remaining slot too, but I don't think cooling was ever a problem. The temperature monitor for the video cards and MB have always shown reaonable temps even after playing Doom 3 and other high end games. I have ASv6 set to Auto Submit Graphics and use WX-Influenced for the Full Sky and Cirrus themes. The only thing that has me confused is that it seems like AS Graphics starts on its own sometimes and others it doesn't. It doesn't seem like there is any correlation because the first time it happened ASG was not running and this last time it was. When it is running minimized it often pops up with no input from me. Just for the record should ASG be running when I am flying or does it matter? Thanks.

I guess the appropriate question to ask is will I see the proper weather if ASG is not running? What effect does having it running vs. not actually have?

Hi,Yes, remember that ASG is just graphics and not weather.ASG will run on each update.
