Strange issue

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I've been having this problem lately, and I think it's because I changed some of the ASV6 settings not too long ago and I'm not sure what it could be. (Can't exactly remember which setting it was. My ignorance) - Anyways, what I've noticed is, at times when externally viewing the aircraft, there are some clouds that cause a lag spike. Below I've included two pictures.asvic8.jpgLooking at a cloud to the east (Right next to me, though they can be at a distance as well when this occurs)asv2qh3.jpgNow looking in another direction, but frames are back up with no problems. These lag spikes will stay there as long as I look at the cloud or until it disappears. I thought it was the equipment I was using, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Below I've included a screenie of my ASV6/ASG settings.asvsettingska4.jpgasgfa5.jpgSorry for some of the large images. Thanks! - Chase

Hi,Just to add to this, based on the screenshots it looks like pretty normal behavior to me, although Jim may be able to help you achieve better frames, it might be at a cost of graphics quality and weather richness. Clouds take resources almost more than anything else in the sim.It is highly recommended to run with "capped" or "locked" frames at around 20fps to avoid such scenarios and also provide a much better overall graphic depiction and level of fluidity. This has been highly documented within the public forum.Hope that helps!

Even with my rig I run DXT format, not 32-bit... Hi,Turn off Render to Texture. And then you are viewing a full screen of clouds so a drop is going to happen, but it should be less with RtT off.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
