can't connect to hifinet

Featured Replies

When starting my AS6 today I was unable to connect to hifinet since. I checked all aspects and as I can connect to the web using all other software AND AS6 is communicating with FS9 via WideFS I am a tad confused or is the server down ?Carsten

Hi,Sorry for the problem. I have been on this evening with no problems and I have no other reports of this. Anything change on your WideFS computer? Any new software including AV? Can you access our web site from that computer? You may need to try a re-install.Please let us know how this is going,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

I can connect to all sites (including your site) from the pc running WideFS and AV6. Accessing files on the network (mapped drive) also works fine. AV6 starts up and then it gets stuck on the "connecting to HifiDataNet". The program itself is still responding so it has not crashed. I tried a repair of AV6 but to no success. I will now uninstall it and try a re-install :( I do not have the slightest clue what is going wrong as I used AV6 without any problems the day before and did neither add nor remove programs Carsten <<-*displays the most puzzled look on his face*

Update: I reinstalled AS6 and the same problem persists. On both machines the XP firewall is deactivated and Kaspersky firewall settings are all tcp/udp connections allowed for ASv6.exe allowed. WideFS and FSUIPC can be ruled out as AISmooth communicates flawlessly with FS9.ActiveRadarConnector verifies succesful installation.ASv6.ini========//ASv6 configuration file Build 523[General]WindowPosX = 495WindowPosY = 495DefaultWeatherFolder = C:FS9-AddonsAS6ModulesASv6SuppressionCeiling = 10000SurfaceWindLimit = 10FS9Path = MedionBOOT ©Program FilesFS9PersonalAppDataFolder = MedionCarsten MolleDatos de programaMicrosoftFS9CloudLayerLimit = 7LocalSuppressionRange = 100MinimumVisibility = 0MaximumVisibility = 59LastPlanFolder = NONEAutoVasFrequency = 30AutoVasStrength = 30TurbulenceFrequency = DefaultStartupLocation = KSEADefaultGraphicsFullTheme = DefaultGraphicsCirrusTheme = AutoSubmitGraphicsTheme = FalseIncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseForcePrimaryServer = FalseForceSecondaryServer = FalseGEProAutoSubmit = FalseUseFetchedStationforGEPro = TrueShowDecodedMBasDecimal = FalseSkyOverride = ASGFavorCumulus = FalseForceRoutePressure = FalseForceLowestCeiling = FalseUnpauseOnReadyStatus = FalseDisableWriteThrottle = FalseDisableProcessThrottle = FalseForceTstormsWithCB = FalseAutoSetFSTime = TrueIgnoreFSLocationUntilReady = TrueAutoConvertPlanFiles = TrueAutoRefreshAI = TrueDisableVisGraduation = FalseEnableGEProWideFSMode = TrueExtendedThrottling = FalseForceRouteAloftTemp = FalseOfflinePlayback = FalseEnableVAS = TrueAutoGenVAS = TrueForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalsePreventIcing = FalseOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseDisableAllGroundUpdates = FalseGlobalWrites = FalseDepictFS9HazeLayer = TrueExtendTstormLayers = FalseDisableDirectWindControl = FalseVoicePlayback = TrueLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = TrueDisableGroundUpdates = FalseUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = TrueUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueIgnoreFSReadyStatus = TrueFSUIPCWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = TrueAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueRainWithTS = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = FalseAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 10VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = 2AloftPredictability = 100WindDriftRate = 0MaxCloudThickness = 10000MinStratusSeparation = 7000TAFProcessing = FalseEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = FalseStartPaused = FalseUseSystemTime = FalseDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONEHelp/ideas appreciated Carsten

Sir,It is 1330Z (0730MST) and I am also having issues connecting. AS6 will download online weather just fine. However it times out and I get an error when I try to download any archive weather. The error says invalid weather directory. This is strange since it updates the weather file no problems when I use online updates. I've changed nothing and AS6 has worked flawlessly for many months.[p class=dcmessage] BradKELP/KBIF http://home.elp.rr.com/bmbanister/BannerSig_BMBanister.jpgAMD Athlon XP 2600, Asus A7V600, 1GB PC3200, NVidia GeForce 6800, SB Audigy2

Well it is 1630Z and the problem seems to have resolved itself. I just downloaded an archive with no problem. Strange, but glad it is back to normal.[p class=dcmessage] BradKELP/KBIF http://home.elp.rr.com/bmbanister/BannerSig_BMBanister.jpgAMD Athlon XP 2600, Asus A7V600, 1GB PC3200, NVidia GeForce 6800, SB Audigy2

ASV will do EXACTLY the behavior you outlined, if you have "Work Offline" checked in your IE browser.Sometimes Windows can change this value seemingly by itself, depending on the actions you take. When it does change this value, it will mess up your ASV connect to HiFi servers...RhettAMD 3700+, eVGA 7800GT 256, ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, etc. etc.

Hi Carsten,Can you check on this setting? It is under File in IE, Work Offline should be unchecked.Something is blocking your connection from that one computer.Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Thanks a lot Rhett & Jim...right now I feel like a --> :-newbieAs I don't use IE (only when physically forced to) and as it's not my default browser I totally and completely forgot to check this setting. Knowing that many programs use the interface over port 80 I should have checked it first before tempering with my network.I personally have a) No idea WHEN windows decided to change this setting (as I did not do so) nor :( WHY it felt like doing such :-newburn BUT am darn glad there are fellow simmers that jump in when my own brain locks out :-lolNow I only have to solve the CTD problem but that's a different forumGreetz Carsten
